ErgonSR Allroad Core Pro Men’s Saddle – Ergonomic, Shock-Absorbing, for Road, Gravel, and Cyclocross

This is an excellent saddle and does an extremely good job buffering bumps in road and trail. The design and construction accomplish a difficult task of making a saddle that feels very firm, which is desirable for a bicycle, especially drop bar style, yet does an excellent job soaking up the bumps. I also have an Ergon SM saddle which I like a lot, but the difference between the two in how you experience rough surfaces is pronounced. The Infinergy foam in the Allroad Core works!With the flat cross section and wide wings on an Ergon saddle it is important to get the fore/aft position of the saddle just right or, if too far forward, you can feel the wings rub the back of your legs, especially if you sit at all upright. But once adjusted correctly, the saddle is extremely comfortable!

This replaced a venerable Fizik Alliante that was 15 years old and showing a lot of wear. So far It's quite comfortable and the shape fits me well. Saddles are such a personal item with pedals running a close second. I recommend it, but there is no such thing as a perfect saddle given the nearly infinite variation in human anatomy. I have ridden it for a bit more than a month so this is not a long term evaluation. It does look like it is built for the long haul. I have a different Ergon saddle on another bike and have been pleased with it, but the narrower width of this one fits my sit bones better.

They may have put a great amount of time in the seat ergonomics however the seat has a material seam that runs directly down the side of the seat that chafes the crap out of your leg (see pic). The material there is very grippy as well which only contributes to the problem. I can’t imagine why the material doesn’t continue all the way down around the seat bottom. I rode with this once and sent it back. Most uncomfortable design!

No break in period. Very comfortable. Would purchase again.

Been riding Brooks B17 and Swift on road and gravel throughout Europe and the US since '97, great saddles over all terrain, riding on the hoods and over bigger distances. I've now switched to the Ergon SR Allroad Core Pro on my gravel bike as most of my mileage is on my aero bars. The Ergon is perfect for me on the dirt roads and aeros!

Ergon missed the mark with this one. The saddle is way too uncomfortable even with a padded bib. I am 200 lbs (91 KG) for reference.I have decided to eat the weight penalty and ordered a new saddle that weighs 150 grams more but hopefully should be more comfortable than this.

Looks to be well made. It seems the descriptions for all of the Ergon saddles are the same. The saddle suggestions on the Ergon website were no help. It was hard as a rock. Returned for a refund.
