My mother had advanced dementia and lives in a nursing home. I bought this as she does not like complete darkness at night. This unit produces a nice array of colours and you can if you wish stop the cycling with a press of a button.I would ideally like the cycling of colours to be a little slower or for there to be an adjustment, but it is fine. The unit projects light on to the wall for about three feet so it won't be much use in a very low socket. It will work best in a socket situated half way up the wall (which in my case there is). The brightness level is about right; it is bright enough to stop the room from being totally dark but not so bright as to stop you going to sleep. In fact, the effect is a little mesmeric, so it might even help you go get off to sleep!Overall, there are not too many lights of this type and many seem to be too bright, so I think this unit is worth getting if you want something a little more interesting than a basic night light.

I bought two of these - one for either side of the bed that are hidden behind the bedside cabinets. They give off a real nice green glow (I have set them to be on green permanently) and have finished off my bedroom nicely! Friends and family who have seen them have described them as "awesome", "cool' and "funky".Would definitely recommend them to anyone for the price. In fact, 2 out of 3 people that have seen them so far are heading to Amazon to buy some for their own house!People are pleasantly surprised when I tell them how much they cost as well!Very nice bit of kit.

This is one of the best night lights I have ever found around. It's a multi colour light that changes during the sequence to give off different colours. It's great for the kids that are not quite old enough to have the main light off it's also very handy if walking down the stairs or popping to the bathroom without putting the main light on to wake up the whole family. This is my third purchase of the unit as I got one for my old mum and my sisters kids and they love it

No this product is rubbish, I plugged it in once and it worked but very dim, I turned it of and when I went to turn it back on it hasn't worked since, waste of money very dissopointed

Good product but could do with being able to switch on with more than just the light sensor.

This is a nightlight for my daughters room. It is not too bright so doesn't keep her awake and the colour changing is pretty but not too jarring. The light sensor aspect (when it detects light in the room it turns off) is great as I just leave it plugged in all the time and it only comes on when we switch off her lights and close her curtains.

I loved it but used for up to three hours an evening for three weeks and one day it has failed.It cast a wonderful light in the hall where we switched it on and off as one would a side light.This evening it started guttering like a candle flame before freezing up and giving a half hearted glow.I had intended to buy more as stocking filler presents but I won't now.

Love it, had loads of "where did you get that from"'s - it gives a very soothing light just enough to see in the dark (as I'm often a midnight wanderer this is perfect !) Thought it was slightly expensive but can now say I think its worth the money as its low voltage (so hubby happy) and just plugged in and left as it accurately switches itself on (in low light) and off (in brightness)
