REST Did It Again – This Cooling Comforter Is a Game-Changer
After falling in love with the REST Cooling Sheets, I figured I’d try the Cooling Comforter too. I went in skeptical (because let’s face it, everything claims to be cooling these days), but I figured if anyone could pull it off, it’d be REST. And once again—they absolutely nailed it. As a 45-year-old, 5'8", 300-pound human furnace who usually sleeps under a fan tornado and still wakes up drenched in sweat, comforters are usually off-limits for me. Even so-called “lightweight” ones trap heat like I’m being slow-roasted. But not this one! The REST Cooling Comforter somehow manages to be cozy without being heavy, and cool without being flimsy. It feels refreshing the second it touches your skin—cool to the touch, like the sheets—and it stays that way. I’m now sleeping under a comforter for the first time in years and waking up dry, comfortable, and actually rested. Imagine that! Highlights: Genuinely cool-feeling and stays that way all night. Perfect weight—light enough for breathability, but still feels like a proper comforter. Doesn’t cling or stick to you like some cheaper ones do. Pairs perfectly with the REST Cooling Sheets for the ultimate combo. I’ve actually caught myself sleeping without the fan on more than once, which is unheard of in my house. And yep, already bought a second one. Minor wish list: Just like with the sheets—I really hope REST starts making more cooling accessories. I need a REST cooling body pillow cover, blanket for the couch, maybe even undershirts . . . basically, I want to live wrapped in this material 24/7. Bottom line: If you’re a hot sleeper who thought comforters were out of the question, this one might change your mind completely. It did for me.

Feels like being draped in a cool river
Witchcraft in this thing. I’ve always run hot for some reason, like I’ve got two fans on me on their max setting with the windows open in the middle of winter, and I still overheat at night. But this comforter is great. I’ve really never felt anything like it. Theres this almost liquid quality to it, being under it somehow feels like being gently draped in a cool river. It’s thin but it sinks down around the shape of your body beautifully. It’s so so soft and smooth to the point it’s a little slippery, probably best for those who tend to like silkier bedding. This comforter is actually not freezing to sleep with either, it adapts to my body temperature in the places I need it to, so I imagine it works great year-round. I am definitely getting my money’s worth here, seriously recommend.

Best comforter I’ve ever used !!
I have never slept as good as I did with this blanket. I’ve always needed to stick a leg out, or have both feet out. I sleep extremely hot, and frequently wake up sweaty. This blanket is thin, while having a nice weight to it. I still feel like I can snuggle up in this blanket without over-heating. The cooling effect, is amazing. In fact, when I first took it out of the box after being delivered from the Amazon truck, it was FREEZING! After it adjusted to the temperature of my room, I used it and had the best night of sleep I’ve had in a long time. I was almost fully covered, with the exception of my head being out. I didn’t overheat once, no need to stick a leg out. It’s not a super puffy comforter, but I tend to like to sleep with thinner comforters any way.

God sent!!!
I’ve purchased this blanket twice—once for my mother and once for my aunt—and both absolutely love it. They’re senior citizens living in North Carolina, where nights can get hot, and they don’t like running the air conditioning all night. This has become their go-to blanket because it’s incredibly soft, lightweight, and genuinely helps keep them cool and comfortable throughout the night. It does a great job regulating body temperature without feeling heavy or stifling. If you’re looking to stay comfortable while cutting back on AC costs, this blanket is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

Very Comfy but Temper Your Cooling Expectations
I bought this because we sleep warm, it had good reviews, and it was the Wirecutter's top pick. PROs: -It's very soft and comfortable; it feels silky smooth against your skin -It's lightweight and cool to the touch Drawbacks: -As others have mentioned, the cooling aspect only works if you use it without a top sheet. Unfortunately, using it without a top sheet would force us to wash the comforter constantly, which is something we didn't want to do, as it would likely degrade the quality. -Even when using it without a top sheet, it warms up quickly. There's no sustainable cooling effect unless you move around a lot. -While it's not a bad-looking comforter, it's not the best-looking, which forced us to have to put something better-looking over it during the day, which was one more thing we had to take off the bed at night. Putting it inside a duvet cover wasn't an option as it would eliminate the cooling effect. Bottom line: This is a quality comforter if you're looking for something lightweight and soft and don't mind washing it often, and if you sleep hot, it's certainly a better option than sleeping with a down or down-alternative comforter.

'REST' assured, these are legit
I'm a hot sleeper, if I'm home I sleep with a ceiling fan on high AND my AC floating around 65-68 even during the winter. If I'm not home & can't get comfortable, it's because it's not cool enough & I will just sleep on top of the covers. Otherwise I'm a loyal, one leg in/one leg out of the covers to self regulate. I've obviously seen these advertised on Social Media because as Gloria Estefan once said, 'the algoRHYTHM is gonna getcha' or something like that. So I've been curious about the brand for a while now and needing to buy a new comforter I figured why not give it a try rather than buy a water based cooling pad or bed fan. The idea of being cool out the box didn't impress me, it's what happens when used that matters. This comforter managed to throw me in the best way. Night one I didn't expect for it to make any noticeable difference but to my surprise it did. My body gives off heat and even when I fall asleep comfy I will often wake up due to being uncomfortably hot or sweating. Two weeks in and I'm pleasantly surprised that I manage to stay comfortable all night. I'm a 'toss and turner' and I've managed to lock in and be in the same spot I fell asleep in more than once which is unusual...especially when you're used to constantly looking for the cool side of the pillow/blanket. I've also done something that I rarely do which is turn off my AC. A few times around 3 or 4, I've woken up chilled enough to turn off the AC. This is an extremely thin comforter which I would consider summertime thickness. Since winter is coming a few nights have dipped to 50 (which is cold for LA). I have tired layering my winter comforters to see if even under the thicker comforters it would regulate my body temperature better. I've got an Unhide Cuddle Puddle which is SUPER thick and tends to run hot as it doesn't breathe and a Buffy Breeze with a Sheex Duvet cover that is light, fluffy & breathes. Best combination has been the Buffy with the Rest comforter. I've enjoyed my experience with this comforter enough that I've gone ahead and purchased the entire set. I'm going to try the above combo of bed sheet under the thicker blankets to see how things go. But my experience has been positive and surprisingly so. Not often does something do what it's advertised to do however I am curious if this will wear off after multiple washes but I'm hopeful that won't be the case. Pros: *The material, the luxurious softness of the comforter feels different than the sheet for some reason but I do LOVE its silky softness. Growing up I had a quilt and this material is as close to that constantly cool denim feel I've found. Where you manage to stay warm but also cool at the same time, very much the cold side of the pillow. *Breathability, this absolutely breathes. While acclimating, it actually felt too cool at times, not because my night routine or room temperature was any different, my night routine is set in stone, but because this comforter tends to excel at transferring the ambient room temp to your body vs standard sheets/comforter which are a barrier to it. Cons: *Ambient room temperature is key. Having the room be cooler/cold does impact how well these feel/work for me personally. If there is no fan blowing or AC these do not work as well. My body seems to radiate heat and I will absolutely begin to feel hot again without the ambient room temp being 65-68. I have Alexa notification set for when my room hits 68 because I find at 70 things get a a bit toasty and heat will build up. *The material, it's way too slick and tend to feel a bit synthetic. Now having the entire bed set, the sheet, the comforter and the pillows will slide right off the bed. I sleep with 6 pillows, the only pillow that doesn't end up on the floor is the one I'm using. It's actually the only thing that bugs me. When I only used the Rest comforter with my Sheex fitted sheet and pillow cases, this did not happen. Wondering if the slickness will go away after a couple of washes but hoping that doesn't affect the cooling properties. *Limited color range, light colors aren't my thing but even the ones they have are not in line with my color palette. Darkest in my wheel house was Navy, I would much rather had black or dark grey. *Price: they aren't cheap but I managed to snag a sale *Durability, the reviews I've seen have shown snags, threads coming unsewn so I'm a bit curious how these will hold up with long term use and washing. TLDR: I've been a loyal Sheex user since as far back as I can remember. I don't own any other sheet sets so this is my first dip outside. As much as I enjoy Sheex material, I personally would not called them cooling so Rest wins due to actually keeping temperature regulated via breathable coolness. Totally worth it in my experience.
