Well designed and build product
A great improvement on my previous garden shredder. Compact and easy to assemble with good instructions and tools provided. Translucent bin is a nice feature. Tried it with bamboo. Generally works very efficiently, however if you feed stuff in too fast, it won't shred completely and the exit hopper is a bit narrow and tends to clog. The only warning that this is beginning to happen is that the bin stops filling and the safety cutout will eventually come into operation if this is ignored. Overall, a very good product.

Decent
Its decent it can take kinda large branches and does mulch then down very well my only reason why 4 stars is due to the exit being rather small and having this spinning thing at the bottom which gets clogged up (usually down to mulch leaves) is this mechanically span it may not get clogged up as much or if it was not there as it does not really serve a purpose as it doesn't event spread the mutch to both sides of the container it just fills it at the front, apart from that its decent with good lead length spare blades and easy set up

So far so good, it shreds my wood
So this arrived earlier than expected (which is great). Once removed from the box, the unit gets turned upside down and the 2 main legs/arms swing out and over. All you do is fit the axle bar between the ends and screw on the 2 wheels, fit the wheel trim/covers and then flip the unit over onto its feet. Then slide in place the container. Thats it! The machine is fairly noisy but apparently most electric shredder are. For me this wasn't an issue, wear ear defenders if it is! Make sure to wear eye protection too, and gloves. The twigs and branches you feed in shouldn't be too thick, maybe about the thickness of you thumb. if the branches are splaying out then it may struggle pulling them through, but use some common sense and split the branches that may pose a problem. The shredder doesn't pull things through it with any power, you have to feed it into the opening and use the plunger provided from time to time. Don't go mad with thick branches, I avoid these as its sure to damage the blades. My main aim is to clear the huge pile of medium/small branches from recent pruning and lopping. The machine performed well and the chippings were smaller than I was expecting. The longer pieces are probably where is forced stuff through too fast or used the plunger. But overall, it did the job better than I was expecting and will definitely make it easier work to clear this pile of branches. You also get a few spare blades too, which is handy for the future. It does state that the blades can be turned around as they have 2 cutting edges, so that's great as you get 2 uses from each blade. All in all a great buy!

Well satisfied.
A decent domestic wood chipper. Could you please ensure your chippings are dry, as damp ones can clog up the machine? Otherwise, I'm well satisfied.

Good price. Good machine
Good price. Good machine .. woody stuff is easy to shred with this machine. Its not fantastic with green leafy stuff as it is too wet and cause machine clog up but this is easy to clear. Cleared a friends garden in one afternoon,3 years worth of growth... it does exactly what it says on the tin!.

Pretty with some good features but feed hopper need a re-design.
On the good side the motor is powerfull (and noisey, but that can be said of most of them) and the collecting box is wonderfull and it chops stuff down fo a good small size, excellent for composting. I have been using it for leylandii hedging which is green and wet, so it is quite a difficult material to handle. At first I found that it would block up very easily, far too easily. Inspection revealed that the slot at the base of the cutter chute has a rotating bar across to stop idiots from shoving their hands up into the cutting chamber and paring their fingers. Removing the bar made an immediate improvement. The other snag is that the slot through which you ram the matarial to be cut is too narrow and the anti-put-your-hand-into-the-cutting-chamber-device is too stiff, I hope it gets floppier with use. It is quite hard work to use compared with the Bosch machine that it replaces. Finally the Dirty Pro Tools machine was designed by someone who has never seen a real tree. It works fine with straight branches (like Hazel) but anything that has a bend or a slight branch coming out of it is hopelessly trapped in the overstiff feed slot. The Bosch was better in this respect being a lot less fussy. Next week I start on the Laurel!
