Happy satisfied customer
This bag is HUGE!!!!! I was looking for pretty much the largest rolling duffel bag at an inexpensive price to use for travel or simple overnighters without having to get out a suitcase but had the same functionality and simplicity in a rolling duffel. I will say I was happily surprised when it arrived exceeding my expectations as it hard to gage a size for something from a few online description pictures so when I took my pictures for the review, I tried to really capture and convey the size for one to choose and deciding factors for a possible purchase. So here we go in a little detail my couch that the bag is laying on is just a few inches shy of 7 feet long. And in the other picture with the tape measure, I tried to extend the side of the duffel to capture the tape measure inside showing the depth of the inside. So needless to say I’m happy with the purchase I made.

Pass on this one
I ordered this bag specifically to be used for a cruise that we were going on. We had to fly from our home city to the East Coast and then take the ship back to our home so, this bag has only made one flight and was unpacked upon arrival onto the ship then repacked to disembark the ship and drive home forty five minutes away. First, upon receipt of this bag, I was really surprised at the size of this thing, it’s much larger than I had anticipated. I packed it for the cruise and the flight. The initial problem is that in order to pack this thing so that it stays within the weight limits required by the airlines, there is quite a bit of empty space left in the bag. With the cinch straps pulled tight to reduce the space problem, a new problem has emerged, the bag is now unstable and will not stand up on its own, it’s a bit floppy. If you try to lean the bag against something to have it stand on its own, the nice wheels on the bottom cause it to immediately fall over. Also because this bag is so big and has to fall into the weight category, I had to pack a second carry on size bag for the rest of my clothing which means I didn’t need this huge bag if I was gonna have to pack a second bag anyway. Next problem I ran into was checking into the airport, the bag was within the weight requirements however, the size of the bag became a problem. The airline was going to charge me extra because the bag exceeded the size limit by quite a bit, they were nice enough to accept it as is after explaining the situation. Getting this bag onto the ship was no trouble at all and it actually fit nicely under the bed for storage. At the end of the cruise, it’s size did come in handy in order to pack the items we had purchased in the different ports during the cruise. It did still have the stability problem of not standing on its own. The night before departure, all bags are placed outside the room so they can be gathered and moved for pick up at customs, I had to sandwich the bag between the bulkhead and another suitcase to keep it from blocking the hallway. The ride home obviously went without a hitch due to it being our own transportation. Overall, the bag is really much larger than thought which is not the fault of the bag but instead it’s my fault for not paying closer attention to the dimensions. The quality of the bag is a different story. I travel extensively with my work and have always used the rolling duffle type bags but never this size. I always get a lot of mileage out of my rolling duffles but they hold up to the abuse that the airlines provide on a regular basis. The bag I was going to retire after purchasing this new extremely large rolling duffle has served me well for four years, COVID slowed my travel quite a bit but, now that we are over COVID, travel has picked up again. The only issue I have with my four year old bag is that the pull tabs for the zippers have broken off, the bag itself shows some wear but not enough to make me totally retire it. This new Rockland roller duffle bag was to become my go to primary bag but, the biggest issue I have with this bag is the quality. After one flight with the airlines, it now has a couple holes in it and one of the seams appears to be coming loose. This bag needs to be made of a more durable material or canvas to make it worth the price paid. If this bag would last through multiple round trip flights then I would give it a better review but seeing as it barely survived a single one way flight, I can’t take the chance of it being a total failure somewhere between my home and Alaska. If it is being used for road trips only, it’ll probably last much longer but in my case, it’s all airlines, no driving. I’m disappointed with the performance, or lack of, of this bag and will be donating it, maybe someone else can use it for at least one more flight and may get lucky enough to get a round trip out of it before it disintegrates.

Good quality
The Rockland rolling duffel bag is a fun, affordable travel companion, perfect for weekend trips or light travel. It’s spacious, easy to roll, and comes in tons of cool colors. The extra pockets are super handy too. It’s not the toughest bag out there, so don’t overload it, but for the price, it’s a great grab!

40-Inch Model is Roomy But Has Issues
I needed a large duffel for an international trip, so I bought the 40-inch version of this bag. It is certainly roomy - 178L, according to Amazon's Rufus - but since its design isn't significantly different from the smaller versions other than the size, this led to some unexpected problems. The first problem is the shoulder strap: its material is too thin, its width is too narrow, and it has a shoulder pad that might be adequate for the smallest version of the duffel, but not at all for the 40" version. The shoulder pad is too small, offers almost no padding, and because the strap is so thin and narrow, the pad tends to slide around on it, which makes the shoulder strap uncomfortable to use. The second problem is that this this duffel offers no organizers of any kind in the main compartment. It does have small zipper pockets along the outside of the bag, but since these are likely to be subject to a lot of banging around by luggage handlers in airports, you can't use the pockets for anything that might be fragile. I realize that the main purpose of a duffel bag is to provide unstructured storage, but a duffel this size really needs to provide internal cinches or organizers in order to keep the contents distributed within the bag. Since it doesn't have any, everything ends up in a jumble at the end of the bag where the wheels are (because that end of the bag is down when you're wheeling the duffel, which you'll want to do most of the time since carrying it by the handle or shoulder straps is unwieldy). You might be able to minimize this tendency by stuffing the bag as full as you can, but with the capacity this bag offers, it's really easy to end up with an overweight bag that way, and I'm not sure this bag is sturdy enough to survive a flight being packed so full. Which leads me to the last item: durability, or at least my perception of durability. While this bag does have a rigid, telescoping pull handle and the "spine" to support it, it's very lightweight and the material is quite thin. Mine survived its first and only round-trip overseas flight (so far) with a lot of staining along the bottom but no tearing, but I'm not expecting it to stand up to too many flights like this. The staining isn't from dragging the ground - the spine and the wheels do a pretty good job of keeping the wheel end of the bag from doing that. However, a bag this size really needs a rigid foot for standing upright, and this bag doesn't have one. The result is that at times, I was holding it upright and the material at the wheel end of the bag was coming in contact with dirty floors, pavement and ground. On my recent trip, I also learned, the hard way, that while most US airports can handle large duffel bags with regular luggage, some airports in other countries treat them as oversize bags because of the unusual shape. While I didn't get charged extra for this, it did require special screening and delay my arrival at the gate. Another inconvenience is that this duffel is too long to fit in the trunk of a compact sedan or small SUV, like the Hyundai Venue I rented during my trip. I had to put my 40-inch duffel in the back seat. This won't be a problem for you if your ground transportation will be a larger SUV, such as a Ford Explorer, or a larger vehicle. Just a couple things to be aware of. I'm thinking that for future overseas flights, I'll go back to conventional suitcases for checked luggage and not use any duffels that are too big to be carry-ons. Given the low price I paid, I'm not complaining about the value. However, I don't travel much. A true road warrior or globetrotter will want to spend more money for something more durable and manageable.

Nice bag very roomy, downside is if you use the wheels the side WILL rip. Still works as regular holdall but bought if for wheels due to being disabled.

Love this bag. Huge! I am assuming that it is going to be too big as a carry on tho. But will be great for my next vacation! Price was great and matches my suitcase exact! Thank you!
