Easy Setup and Great Deal
Needing to replace an older HP desk jet, the price of this one was hard to beat. Since our older printer was already set up in the HP Smart app all I had to do was turn this printer on, go into the app and add it and in a few seconds, the printer was all set up. The print quality is great as we're mainly printing documents and school work. And it's fast. As an added bonus, since I already was subscribed to the HP+ printer cartridge and ink subscription, the 6-month trial this printer came with was applied to my account. So we go from the 65 cartridges to the 67 this one takes. Easy peasy. So six months of HP+ at no cost. A win win.

I absolutely love it
Where do I start? I absolutely love it! Easy to set up, easy to use. The price was right. It practically fixes itself!

WORST PRINTER EVER!!!
Having purchased printers for over 40 years, this is HANDS DOWN the WORST printer I have EVER had. Even with HP Smart, was difficult to connect. DIAGNOSE AND FIX feature WOOOORTHLESSSSS!!!! TWO PAGES printed one day took HOURS to print between each page. After not using even for an hour E V E R Y S I N G L E T I M E, error messages - PRINTER OFFLINE, or not connected to wifi, and, today, PRINTER NOT TURNED ON, WHILE I'M STARING AT THE LIGHT SHOWING IT'S TURNED ON!!!!! HP SMART USELESS!! DELETED APP, THROWING OUT PRINTER as past window of return. Oh, and don't get me started on random pages spewing out information about your printer, NOT THE ACTUAL PAGE(S) YOU WANT PRINTED!!!! WASTING INK THAT ALREADY COSTS WAY WAY WAY TOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!! BTW, that's why printer companies sell them so low, BECAUSE OF THE SALES IN AFTER PRODUCTS...THAT'S WHERE THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY. I yearn for the day you could put your printer on your desk, plug in, connect to computer MANUALLY without all the crapola apps, connect to internet (wifi) and VOILA, WORKS EVERY SINGLE TIME. JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN DOESN'T MEAN SHOULD HEWLETT PACKARD. THE MORE YOU "IMPROVE", THE WORSE YOU GET!!!!!

Great printer, but with caveats
I ordered this printer, HP DeskJet 4133e, when my previous HP printer bit the dust. The price was great, arrived promptly, and the HP literature said it took #61 cartridges of which I have 2 new sets. Setup was a horror movie. Going through the setup by the links on the enclosed literature took me to a setup for a color laser printer, in Polish. Really. I restarted web browser and wandered through hp.com and finally got to series 4100 setup which nearly worked. Printer did not take #61 cartridges, it takes #67. To be fair I do not recall a smooth setup with anything computer, no instructions where the video matches the buttons. And this prnter seems good enough that I would buy another. LC

Inexpensive and works good.
I've had this printer for almost 3years and never had a problem with it. It works great and it keeps me from going to makes and it saves me money. This printer is very good inexpensive buy.

Great printer for the price!
I bought this printer to replace an aging HP 6970 which had worked flawlessly for years before deciding to go belly-up one day. That model is no longer made so had to go looking for a new printer. Surprised to see how much more expensive new ones from HP are now and was happy when I found this one which was much less expensive and met my needs. I read the reviews and was really hesitant to buy this due to a couple of serious negative comments on setup and installation issues. However, it went on sale briefly so I decided to give it a shot. I had worked in IT for several years so I felt I could maybe have an edge on figuring out the setup piece. I took the great advice from someone who mentioned downloading the HP+ app prior to installation and this helped tremendously. I had the printer installed and running in about 1/2 hour and it is working perfectly. At this point, and given we have only had it a couple of weeks, i absolutely would not hesitate to buy it again. And a word about the HP Instant Ink program -- I went ahead and signed up for this as they really guide you strongly in that direction and it seems like a lot of the negative comments about the printer were coming from those who chose not to join that subscription service. But, if I can get ink cartridges sent to me automatically when the printer indicates it needs them and for 1/2 price of retail that sounds like a pretty good deal to me! However, time will tell how this actually works.

Great Value and Nice Printer
I’m was so impressed with the setup for this printer. It was quick and easy to do. I already had a HP printer but it was on its last leg so I decided to replace it. Reading the reviews was a bit frightening because some people gave a good review and some people didn’t. I didn’t need a fax option in my printer but I did need the scan/print option. My setup was done in less than 15 minutes and the set up of my free instant too. Again I was ready setup for the instant so I just had to add the new and remove the old printer and everything was set.

Good, Inexpensive Printer, But....
I registered my HP per the website instructions, and completed set-up with a frustrating amount of difficulty; I finally set it up on my phone, because I was reaching roadblocks using my PC. During the set-up process, I stupidly signed up for their Instant Ink promo (they would mail it to me). My initial cartridges were "free" (they monitor and send automatically - definitely felt that Big Brother was watching me!). I received an email stating that beginning this month I would be charged $5.99 a month for the Instant Ink (limited amount of ink in cartridges). I reviewed my usage and determined it was not cost effective due to my limited use. Today, I had to print an important document, and learned that my printer had been "locked", despite my ink levels being nearly full. So, I will now have to leave my home to get the document printed. I read an HP thread discussing this and saw that others had also felt that this is a rip-off/scam and I feel it is a terrible business practice. Beware of signing up for their Instant Ink promo if you buy this product!

We really like this printer! I’m impressed with the quality for the price. It works perfectly and once you complete the easy set up, the ink is automatically ordered and delivered to your door. We’ve had it for a few months now and I would buy it again.

Bought for older neighbors. Super easy set up, printing in 5 minutes or less!! Since set up they have not had a single issue. I wish the hardwire printer cord was still included but as long as you know that and it'd not a surprise, you're golden!

When they say you can connect it to your computer as a standalone it's not as easy as it seems. Finally I removed it entirely from my system and plugged it into a new USB port so it could be found again and did a reset. It says you just have to plug it in to your computer and it will be found. That's true but the instructions for the settings is very convoluted and not meant for the faint of heart as far as I'm concerned. My entire career has been in the IT and System Administrator business. I think I can install it with my eyes closed now but I had to figure most of it all on my own. HP has gone and relied on wireless without considering the ordinary person who may not have a clue how to make this run or even have wifi. That part is extremely frustrating and disappointing. It is also now connected to my network through my system instead of wireless. I am not a wireless fan. Insofar as tech support goes I could have called HP but after having a dozen HP printers and computers and working with tech support I'm really adverse to working with them. Information on line is pretty sketchy if you ask me.

On Jan 29th I purchased this printer. This was by far the worst experience I ever encountered with customer service / tech support from any company. The printer died halfway through the set up so I connected with HP support I spoke with 2 techs from HP the 1st tech was located in Florida and was pleasant but was unable to assist me he connected me with a " senior tech " located in Ohio. This tech was very rude had zero ability to connect with me verbally as a customer plus at one point in the conversation when I was trying to get an answer I innocently asked how can this happen with a brand new printer he immediately raised his voice at which point I started to raise my voice he then said QUOTE " I AM NOT YOUR SLAVE " UNQUOTE. I was flabbergasted that anyone representing a company product / Brand would speak to a customer in this way. I have always purchased HP printers over the years but after this experience I would never recommend them to anyone. The printer I purchased was HP Deskjet 4133e. If there was any good to come out of this transaction is that Amazon.ca stood by their return policy I returned the printer. 2 days after receiving it + Although it took 3 weeks I finally received my credit for the full cost. 8/10 Amazon 0/10 HP support / Tech
