After my husband had foot surgery to correct a bunion, he was afraid to put his foot into a shoe or sneaker. The physical therapist recommended this shoe and it is perfect. It looks like a normal show but has a wide front for his poor toes. He has 2 pair now and uses them whenever he goes outside.

I've been running Altras for close to a decade. the wide toe box and zero drop with cushion is key for me. the shoe is best on road, but I take it on trail too. the price was incredible here.

I've had foot pain the past 2 years. I originally found the ALTRA Torin 7 at a well known outdoor Recreational Equipment store. The shoe felt comfortable instantly and helped relieve my foot pain. I thought I found the magic cure for my foot pain that not even a podiatrist could help. I wore them daily to work at a desk job, so only walked in them, no running or working out. Within months they developed a hole on top at the toe crease. This happened on both shoes. I thought maybe it was a defective pair, so decided to order another pair on Amazon. To my surprise, the second pair did the exact same thing within a few months of wear as well. My entire life I have never had a shoe develop holes from only walking, and I'm in my mid 40's so I've gone through a lot of shoes in my adult life. These shoes have to be made out of the cheapest fabric ALTRA could find if it wears out just by walking in them. Paid $160 for the first pair and approx. $110 for the second pair. A shoe that costs this much should never wear out after a couple months of walking around in them at a desk job. I can't imagine how quickly they would deteriorate if I had used them to workout and run in. I will never buy this brand shoe again, they are complete trash.

I learned about ALTRA shoes after a catastrophic shattered heel injury over a year ago. In my recovery, my physical therapist offered some advise (that aligned with my Orthopedic Surgeon): That I would need to be looking at a wider shoe in the future, and that stability + cushion would be necessary. Also - that a "flat-foot" - aka "zero rise" shoe might be worth looking at. When I had recovered sufficiently to begin replacing shoes - I tried on many - and there were two brands that had shoes that provided great cushion but very stable support - and ALTRA was the zero-rise choice. I actually purchased this pair to replace a pair that I damaged beyond repair (not ALTRA's fault). Decided to try the Torin 7, as the ratings and reviews seems to be positive. So far, this shoe is very close to the same comfort level as my first pair (VIA Olympus 5). If I had one complaint about these (and my other pairs): The fabric is REALLY easy to stain, and NOT easy to clean. I would sure like to find a way to effectively clean (and protect) the appearance of these shoes.

Great shoe brand that was recommended to my husband by his podiatrist. They are a very good, comfortable, reliable shoe that still looks like new even after a year of wearing them daily to work. They have very unique, vibrant colors as well.
