Cheap board, nice with minor annoyances
Summary: For a cheap Socket 1700 board this is nice, works well but naturally not to be paired with high-end CPUs. When on sale, might as well get a better Z790 or TUF if you can afford it. Get a socket 1700 buckle/bracket if you can afford it to replace the LGA socket. Note that wifi/bt is AX201 (dual band) CNVio2 older card - not the WiFi 6E AX211 (so no 6GHz tri-band) but easy to replace; penny pinching by Asus... Or you can use BE200 PCIe card if you want Wifi 7. Don't get the CNVio3 versions (BE201), they won't work. I use the "wifi" slot for a NVMe SSD, just buy a A+E M.2 to B+M converter and you can add a 2230 SSD in it. Note that it is only a PCIe x1 lane - so with PCIe3 SSD you will max at ~1GB read/write. The x1 lane PCH PCIe 4 slot is mechanically x16 full width - so you can plug in a x4 or x8 card/or adapter without modding it. You're limited by x1 lane but even 10Gbe network card will be OK especially if PCIe 4 (e.g. AQC 113) The x4 lane PCH PCIe 4 slot is also mechanically x16 full width - so you can plug in a x8 or x16 card/adaptor - e.g. video for server CUDA/AI/transcode - and then use the PCIe 4 x16 "video" slot for a SSD array. Note that B860 does not do bifurcation - so if you want to use the PCIe 4 x16 slot for a SSD array you will need a card with bifurcation built-in; e.g. ASM2814, ASM 2812 x8 cards + Enterprise 22110 NVMe SSDs. Some are unreliable and get hot so go for branded (e.g. Dell) if you can. Otherwise this board is pretty much identical to the other in the Asus range of B760 MATX with small variations.

The Go-To Motherboard for a High-Value DDR5 Build!
I recently used the ASUS PRIME B760M-PLUS for a new mid-range gaming and productivity build featuring an Intel Core i5-13600K and DDR5 memory. For the price, this board delivers where it counts and is a fantastic foundation for any non-overclocking enthusiast looking for modern speed. 👍 The Pros: What I Loved 1. Future-Proofing Power: The inclusion of a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is huge. It ensures my system is ready for the next generation of GPUs, even if I'm only using a PCIe 4.0 card today. 2. Storage Heaven: With three M.2 slots, I was able to install two large NVMe SSDs and still have a slot left over for future expansion. The primary M.2 slot also comes with a heatsink, which is essential for keeping high-speed drives cool. 3. DDR5 Performance: It handled my 6000MHz DDR5 RAM right out of the box using XMP, which is great for boosting overall system speed, especially in games. 4. 2.5Gb Ethernet: A big quality-of-life upgrade. File transfers on my local network are noticeably faster than my old 1Gb board. 5. mATX Size: It fit perfectly into my smaller Micro-ATX case, which made cable management easier than a full ATX board might have. 👎 The Cons: Things to Note 1. No Built-In Wi-Fi: This is the biggest drawback. The base B760M-PLUS requires a direct Ethernet connection. If you need Wi-Fi, you’ll have to purchase a separate M.2 or PCIe adapter, which adds cost. 2. Basic Aesthetics & I/O Shield: This is a "Prime" board, meaning it focuses purely on function. You won't find any built-in RGB lights or a pre-attached I/O shield (the separate shield is a bit fiddly to install). 3. VRMs Are Budget-Focused: While it handles the i5-13600K perfectly for gaming, I wouldn't recommend pairing this with a top-of-the-line i9 CPU if you plan on running heavy, sustained workloads (like professional rendering), as the VRM cooling might be insufficient. Final Verdict If you are building with an Intel i3, i5, or i7 (non-K or F-series) and need a reliable, feature-rich board that supports DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, the ASUS PRIME B760M-PLUS is an outstanding value. It’s stable, packed with fast connectivity, and its mATX form factor makes for a clean, compact build. Just make sure you are prepared to either use a wired connection or purchase a separate Wi-Fi card! Highly Recommended for Mid-Range Builders.

Good quality motherboard
Purchased 3 of these and they've all been excellent, solid and reliable, if a little expensive. The first 2 purchased (Nov 2023) needed a BIOS flash to support 14th gen CPU, but the latest one (Jan 2025) supported 14th gen out of the box. Running with i5-13600K, i5-14600K, i3-14100 CPUs.

Good motherboard but there was a strange issue with the bios. The motherboard wouldn’t recognize the nvme ssd I had to make some changes. Had to do a lot of research to find out how to fix it, had to reset the motherboard, update the bios, and then change some obscure settings.

Cheap and everything worked as aspected.

Carte mère très jolie. Le bios est facile à paramétrer. Carte utilisée pour un 13600k ou 14600k et le résultat est parfait.
