I undertake plumbing tasks very rarely, but decided to get a proper deburring tool to make the correct preparation for joining the pipes after cutting. Not sure it makes a lot of difference to the joint unless the cut itself is very poor, but is the right thing to do and reduces the chances of a sliced finger.

It is certainly lightweight compared to the similarly sized pipe cutter, and probably not as hardwearing as it could be, but for an occasional DIYer like me, that is not a big issue. I bought it thinking it would give me a better finish than using a half-round file, but having tried it out on several pieces of left over 15mm copper pipe, I'm not convinced it does.

This is a well designed and effective pipe deburring tool. For me it is an essential bit of kit when working with plastic or copper pipe especially when using push fit fittings. Its well made, able to handle common pipe sizes also robust and sharp so can see it working well.

The description is not correct for this product. It will work on pipe up to 38mm but not 40mm. Amazon need to correct this product information
