My son loves it!

Roleplaying game books are expensive these days so it takes a lot for me to feel that I really got good value out of a purchase. This is the first major expansion for the current Marvel rpg and it's a great one, whether you love the mutants or not. It features a comprehensive history of the x-universe, bios and adventure hooks for the various teams, a lot of new characters statted up and ready for play, plus new powers and modified rules. The book is hefty, gorgeous, and packed with useful info.

A great expansion for anyone wanting to play an xmen based 616

I am excited by this latest expansion pack to the MARVEL MULTIVERSE RPG. The book is loaded with useful information for players/narrators to enhance their gaming experience and play within the Marvel world of mutants. The background information is very detailed and covers the most significant "eras" and events encompassing Professor Xavier's Children of the Atom, with detailed maps and campaign specifics for recreating the X-MEN's most thrilling adventures. Be aware, gamers, that several new rules will apply across the board, which will only increase the RPG's playability. Some are cosmetic, but others are intricate, especially regarding mutant profiles and particular skill sets. I'm certain that these additional rules will apply across the board and will be continually addressed as the RPG continues to evolve. The book includes several new character profiles and updates, but mostly new details filling out the roster of mutants and the allies and adversaries, many of which haven't been released in previous modules for the MARVEL MULTIVERSE RPG. The only disappointing factor in this particular expansion is that, most recently, in Marvel Comics, the X-Men ended the "Era of Krakoa," and much of the information in this book leads to that very end but not beyond it. Gamers wanting to rise "From the Ashes" will have to adjust character backgrounds and move on individually, or else play within the confines of the timeline exhibited inside the latest tome. It's up to you!

The maps, loads of info, and character profiles alone are worth the price of this rules expansion BUT the new rules and powers will really enhance your game. The Marvel Multiverse Roleplaying Game is killing it. Highly recommend for super hero games of all kinds.

Pretty cool

The book is really useful. It dedicates a significant part of it to explain the chronology of the x-men, which can help anyone regardless of the period of X-men you may have followed in the HQs or in any other type of media. There are plenty of useful rules, including revised version of the things alredy in the core book, such as the adamantium weapons. As a negative point, I think some ilustrations were made with help of AI. I don`t think this is a problem on itself, but there are some wierd features, such as a Logan without eyes. That said, the absolute majority of the ilustrations looks good and made by regular means.
