Nikwax DOWN WASH DIRECT 300ml, Technical Cleaner for Down Gear, Cleans Effectively, Enhances Water Repellency and Maintains Insulation, Down Washing Detergent

I’ve just used the 100ml pouch on my 8 year old Rab jacket which was looking pretty grubby after a heck of a lot of use. The instructions are pretty clear and easy to follow and the product easy to use. After tumble drying the jacket with some tennis balls to help fluff up the down you do need to manually search for clumps of down and try and tease them apart through the fabric which is a bit of a pain. The jacket has come up clean and smelling fresh albeit I have noticed the odd cold spot when wearing the jacket where clearly the down hasn’t thoroughly spread back out so be aware that may happen. I’ve also noticed the Rab logo on the chest has cracked slightly but it’s not that bad. Rab will launder their jackets but the price plus postage was £33 which I thought too much to spend on an 8 year old jacket so this is a more cost effective option. Maybe Rab declump the down better if they do it but if they don’t then this product is a far better solution.

I always buy this brand to wash my feather down coats in, it works well and they come out of the tumble dryer looking brand new

Worked perfectly fine on my long down Jack Wolfskin coat it took all of the stains out. I washed it on 30 degrees and 800 spin . Then dryer with 4 dryer balls until completely dry. Looks like new again.

Good one but smells strange

Worked well on my long raincoat from Mountain Warehouse which stipulated to use a product for down stuff. I didnt notice any problems with the smell. Very easy to use. Cleaned well.

A classic product that does a good job. Carefully washed a couple of down jackets in the sink and left them to soak overnight. Got a lot of gunk out of them. The down all clumped together and it took a few days of air drying plus an hour on low heat in a tumble dryer to revive them.

Wäscht sauber und imprägniert. Das beste für Daunen.

Good to wash your technical water proof clothes

I can't say that I've specifically noticed any actual benefit of using this, but I do kind of sense that it cleans more deeply. I'm looking out for improved waterproofing, but haven't been caught in any downpour as yet
