LOVE! Highly Recommend!
I am the new owner of a 5 gallon betta tank and I'm not an experienced fish tank person. Changing the water and cleaning the tank was a huge worry! After using this tool, I'm not worried anymore. It's easy! My son wanted a pet of his own and I told him we could get a gold fish in a bowl for the kitchen counter so he could enjoy it while eating breakfast, snacks etc. Little did I know that gold fish are not suitable for fish bowls. They get too big for them. I'm clearly a novice fish person. Anyways, long story short my son and I ended up leaving the pet store with 2 female betta fish, a split 5 gallon tank with a heater and a water filter and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I was told I need to change about a quarter of the water in the tank every week. Our tank is in a little cubby above a storage cabinet in our media console. This syphon is small enough that I can stick it into the tank without removing the whole set up from the cubby. I love the end attachments, they make it so easy to change the water. I even use the little sucker one to kind of vacuum the rocky area at the bottom. I don't worry about sucking up one of the fish or any rocks on accident because the tube is small and the attachments work so well. I syphon out the tank water into a 5.5L bin from the local restaurant supply store (the measurement lines on the restaurant bins make changing the water extra easy, hot tip), rinse the bin out then put it on top of the console and syphon the same amount of fresh water back in after adding the water conditioner. The whole process takes less than 15 minutes. Very little mess- I usually spill a little water when I remove the syphon from the tank after adding the fresh water. Not a product problem, just a user error every time. This is an awesome aquarium tool! If you have a small tank and don't know anything about aquariums, this is great, cheap and easy solution to water changes. Works perfectly for us and our new pets, Spike and Fin. Recommend!

Effective without sucking fish in
This the the greatest little cleaner I’ve owned! It sucks up everything super easy and fast but the suction does not pull my fish in at all. I have small fish that swim right up to it to check it out and they are fine. I did buy a longer hose so I could reach from my sink all the way to my farther tanks but that’s an extra I did, it works perfectly just the way it comes. Would buy again

It's ok
This is a cute and almost tiny tool. It works ok. The assembly was tricky because the directions were wrong and the arrow was pointing the wrong way.

Slow deep cleaning in hard to reach spots!
This is a GAME CHANGER I have a planted aquarium with sand, rocks, and driftwood. It's a collum tank as well (tall not wide) this does GREAT! the suction is not quite as strong as say a regular size of course. But man is it fantastic for getting in all those hard to reach places while being safe with nano species. I like my water change amounts to be really consistent too- deep clean but only 25% water. Now I really have time to scrub. My tank is clearer than my vision 🤩 definitely worth the money. Easy to put together and take apart!

Keep in mind this product is very small
Keep in mind this is a small tool. I bought this to vacuum sump filters and aquariums with no substrate. It worked well for that purpose. Additionally, I think this tool will last a long time. The siphon pump works well. I like that I can vacuum up debris without changing out a large volume of water. I can imagine this works well for detailing reef tanks. The opening is small, but it does have enough power to force fish waste the same size as the openings. I love the ridged pipe so I can reach the bottom while keeping my hand dry. The price is reasonable.

For anyone who enjoys frustration and dirty tanks.
I bought this for my 3-gallon tank, and wow, what an experience. The idea is good, but the execution is tragic. The first time I used it, a few bits of gravel got sucked right into the hand pump, instantly clogging it and stopping the flow. The plastic feels cheap, the tubing kinks easily, and the whole thing seems determined to make cleaning your tank messier than it has to be. If you enjoy chaos and disappointment, this little gadget is for you. Otherwise, spend a few extra bucks and save yourself the drama (and the soggy sleeves).

Perfect for Small Tanks
Perfect for my small fry tank. Very easy to use and works great. It quickly gets the water flowing. Easy to put together and I like that there are multiple options for cleaning. Well worth the money.

It works fine in my vessels for Bettas that use no substrate with some caveats
It works fine in my vessels for Betta. Here is some additional information and context: —It arrived with the two hoses screwed into the pump on the wrong ends. Check this mix up if it does not work for you. —I do not use a substrate so this siphon worked fine for me and the water flow was just right. —As many reviewers point out, it works well under certain conditions. I have some of the positive conditions and some negative ones. Lesson learned: —I am going to stop experimenting with different plants with Bettas. My aquatic plants do very well without fish. Some do fine with Bettas, but in most cases Bettas tear my plants to bits and the Betta’s own waste combined with the rotting shredded plants quickly negatively impacts any untouched plants and the overall health of the environment. Why am I including this in a siphon review? The shredded plants were the main source of clogging in the siphon; however, the plant debris simply needed to be removed from the siphon and then it worked fine. If some Bettas see plants as targets to attack, I am removing them and this will make water changes and cleaning easier. The vessels with Bettas that are not attacking the plants stay in a healthy balance and the water and glass surface looks consistently clear.

This is a good size for a small tank. I am new to aquascaping and must remember in the future to place my hardscape in such a way that I can still get in to clean around it. This helps.

It works perfectly for my small aquarium that is heavily planted. I can reach the small corners to clean the sand without unrooting or destroying my plants. It makes the water change way easier too.
