Surprisingly easy to use and works great.
The item pictures and description are exactly as listed in the item description. I purchased this because my son and I fish a lot and using a "sabiki" type of rig to catch baitfish was getting old. The item arrived in a little storage bag, with a little spool of monofilament and a plastic "needle" type of tool in case the net needed to be repaired. Also included was a little instruction manual on how to use this cast net. This is not your typical type of cast net, but rather has an aluminum circular ring at the top that helps the net spread open evenly. I had watched a few videos of this in use before I decided to purchase it. I purchased the 3/8 size because I can use even the smallest of baits to catch fish and wasn't concerned if small bait got caught in the holes. The weights were encased in white plastic and they felt durable. The mesh was thin, but durable monofilament line and I wasn't too concerned about that because we were not planning to use it around rocks, but rather off a pier and not letting the cast net go all the way to the bottom before retrieval. My son has never used a cast net before and did a simple practice cast in the backyard. To my surprise, he had it mastered by the 2nd throw of the net! The big moment came when we actually went fishing and he cast it off the pier we were fishing on. The first cast opened up perfectly, waited a few seconds before retrieving the net and to our surprise it was filled with greenbacks! Definitely got it over the right spot because we had more than enough greenbacks to use for the both of us that there was no need to cast it again until we moved to another location and released what was left in the aerated bucket back into the sea. It did take me a few tries to get it right because I wasn't used to holding a round piece of aluminum, but I figured out the trick and that is to release it like you are throwing a frisbee. It helps to cast it out with some power in the throw to allow momentum to help swing out the weights. We have used this numerous times on over 3 weekends and there has not been any breakage of the mesh net. Just be sure to wash this off very well with fresh, clean water and let it hang dry before placing it back into the carrying case. I find putting it in a big 5 gallon bucket that's filled with fresh, clean water and then removing it after a minute or two works very well for me. Extremely pleased with this purchase and higly recommended for it's ease of use. The only thing that did not come with the net was instructions on how to repair the net using the provided line and tool. Thankfully, nothing damaged yet, so I will cross that bridge if and when the time comes.

Watch video before you use will make it much easier
Quality good great value for the money. If you’re just learning, I would get a smaller size weight is OK. Durability good mesh quality good. Not unless the shed are really thick on top of the water. You need a net with heavier, weights, salt water, preferably

Great !!
This net is awesome. I have used it at the skyway pier many times. It works great. When tide current is moving very fast, the net does not sink fast enough. Can still get bait.. but this net works much better within hours of high or low tide. Slack tide obviously best since water is not moving much. Still completely worth the price. I’ve caught hundreds, probably thousands of bait fish. The very small greenbacks can get gilled in the net, usually the ones that are 1-2 inches… but it’s maybe only 5 caught up by their gills in the net and the rest plop out easy. The bigger the bait, the less likely that is to happen. I even caught a Spanish Mackerel with the net. Completely random.. had no idea till I pulled the net out of the water. I have zero complaints. The video I took was on the worst day ever. There was no bait at the pier all night. That was considered a good haul that night… when normally, one could pull in a hindered of them on one throw. But what can I saw, when the fishing is good, I don’t have my phone in my hand, I am took busy fishing. So that is the best I can show you. It catches bait, the bait catches fish.

Good cast net
This cast net is easier the use but still takes some practice. Didn’t take long to get the hang of it though. Cast net takes up a little more more room when stowed because of the aluminum ring. It is a good value for the money. Appears to be well built and will last.

Safe for koi!
My koi pond is too large to use a normal net, and I needed something to catch my fish when they're sick. I was really worried about harming the koi, but this net worked perfectly! It only took a few practice throws to get used to it. It sinks quickly, holds the fish securely without hurting them, and releases easily. I've been able to catch my big guys (24") and little guys (2") with this net, and none of them were hurt. Definitely less stressful than trying to corral them into a corner with a pond net!

Best deal
Cast net is durable and sinks almost as fast as a high dollar net. This is my go to for budget fishing and catching my own bait. Also if you don’t like the hoop or decide to remove it later, it’s removable without damaging the net.
