This Pioneer internal CD/DVD drive fits into a desktop PC, either to replace an existing drive or as an additional one. It is compatible with windows 8.1,10 and 11. The fitting is fairly simple and clear instructions are included in the instructions booklet. Once Installed the cyberlink media suite can be downloaded and installed on the PC. The following software can be downloaded for free, PowerDVD, Power2Go, Labelprint, PowerDirector, AudioDirector, ColourDirector, PhotoDirector and Pioneer BD Drive utility. Some cool features, Pureread 4+ uses an algorithm to minimise data errors when importing data called ripping. This same software is used for audio playback using the original CD data. This unit is also compatible with ultra HD blu-ray. The design of the front panel looks good and it has a small hole on the left for emergency release of the tray. The writing speed maybe not super fast for some users but for me it feels reliable to ensure efficient data storage and backup. Says connectivity is usb ...but is does not have usb at all

This is a Pioneer product and so has nice packaging, although for the price I would expect a bit more. It won’t blow you away, let’s put it that way. These are my main pros and cons for this drive: Pro: Good build quality Included software bundle Latest PureRead error correction Compatible with Windows 8.1 / 10 / 11 Ultra 4K playback Stylish front panel Noise level is fine Con: Ultra 4K is limited on newer Intel CPUs (?) Requires SATA connection Far too expensive for features on offer Body is standard grey bare metal and labels, not stylish black like the front —---------- So what we have here is an internal BluRay player / writer for PC. It has lots of bells and whistles (such as 4K) over a normal unit, but there are also strange limitations. You can buy a standard BR rewriter for less than half this price and personally I don’t think the extras make sense for 99% of potential users. Basically if you want Ultra 4K disc compatibility (and can live with its limitations) then give this a look, otherwise save a big chunk of cash and get a normal unit from pretty much any brand these days.

Nachdem ich über 400 Musik-CDs als MP3 digitalisiert habe, kann ich die Vorzüge der Fehlerkorrektur bestätigen. Dieses Laufwerk kann ich guten Gewissens empfehlen!

It does better than a lot of other hardware at reading questionable disks but some blurays have proven to be highly unreliable for backup storage. Nothing will read them any more. I like it but don't expect miracles.

Je possède des graveurs Pioneer depuis plus de 20 ans maintenant, avec les Plextor, ce sont les meilleurs. Plextor pour les CDs et Pioneer pour les Blurays. Celui-ci est la dernière évolution des graveurs Pioneer Bluray. Il dispose de tous les raffinements de la marque, et des tests en laboratoire montrent que la qualité de la gravure est la meilleure avec les graveurs de cette marque sur l'ensemble des médias testés pour ce qui est de la durée dans le temps (test fait par un laboratoire français dont j'ai trouvé le compte rendu en ligne). Cela confirme la conclusion empirique à laquelle j'étais arrivé après des années d'utilisation de diverses marques (Pioneer, Plextor, Sony...). Celui-ci est paramétrable avec un petit outil à télécharger sur le site Pioneer. Vous pouvez privilégier la vitesse de lecture/gravure ou la qualité, la fiabilité de lecture audio ou la vitesse encore, et l'algorithme de correction en temps réel de l'audio, appelé Pure read 4+, limite les erreurs. Avec un logiciel EAC correctement paramétré (c'est important... il renvoie les erreurs C1/C2 etc.), par exemple, j'obtiens les mêmes fichiers WAV au bit près avec deux graveurs différents, ce Pioneer BDR-S13 et un Plextor PX-891SAF acheté il y a peu aussi. Les checksums sont identiques. J'ai encore des CDs audio gravés il y a 20 ans qui sont encore lisibles sans erreurs (il faut les stocker dans de bonnes conditions). Avec le petit outil de configuration, vous pouvez même ralentir la vitesse du tiroir de chargement pour réduire le bruit et éteindre la led bleue en façade pour limiter la gêne dans le noir... Vous pouvez également réduire la vitesse de rotation pour les CDs audio pour limiter la force centrifuge lors de la lecture et ne pas les endommager... Qui dit mieux? Bon, je ne sais pas si c'est réellement utile mais c'est là! Il est très silencieux en fonctionnement, et les vibrations sont très limitées même à vitesse maxi. On sent le travail fait par Pioneer à ce niveau. La qualité de lecture est ce qui se fait de mieux à l'heure actuelle. Le seul bémol, qui sera rédhibitoire pour certains, c'est l'impossibilité de lire les Blurays UHD (en 4K donc) avec ce lecteur/graveur, à moins de disposer d'un CPU intel qui gère l'extension SGX (Software Guard Extension), supprimée sur les CPU à partir de la génération 10 il me semble. Le dernier firmware ne permet pas les modifications des adeptes du RIP de Bluray. Un code est fourni pour télécharger Cyberlink Media Suite, vous avez donc tout ce qu'il faut pour lire les DVDs et Blurays et graver, même si les petits outils gratuits ImgBurn et cdbxpp sont parfaits également. Il est cher, c'est indéniable, mais si vous voulez la meilleure gravure et un graveur qui ne lâchera pas dans 6 mois, c'est celui qu'il vous faut. J'ai encore mon vieux Pioneer BDR-208DBK fabriqué en 2012, et qui fonctionne très bien. Mais il ne grave pas les BD-XL de plus de 50 Go. Je l'ai mis dans un boîtier externe IcyBox, ce qui permet de ne le brancher que lorsqu'il est utilisé, et accessoirement de solutionner le problème des boîtiers PC sans emplacement 5.25 pouces. Pour conclure, c'est un graveur onéreux, mais c'est peut-être le dernier que vous achèterez!
