I carry this in my pocket all day long so the anodized coating is starting to wear away, but it feels solidly built and is made of aluminum. I work in a shop all day so I am moving around a lot and things in my pocket bump into tools and cast iron surfaces. I don't even carry my phone with me because I might crack the screen, but this is holding up well. It has a rubber O-ring that seals the contents from air and moisture. I am using to carry medication, but it does make people laugh sometimes when I pull it out at meal time to take pills as the sound of unscrewing it sounds exactly like a grinder.
