It's good
This filter has lasted one week longer then the others that I have tried. So three weeks instead of two weeks.

it does filter sediment and chlorine taste
I bought the 10in bowl and these filters for one specific reason, an ice maker that I got online recently. its a little bigger than your typical portable one so it takes a little bit more effort to get the water flow going to it. i have this whole home filter connected directly from under my kitchen sink. this filter alone isnt enough i have connected it to an anti scaler, 2 5-year fridge filters by ecopure, a carbon sediment filter and theres still a ton of scale build up its supposed to filter sediment but after 1 hr of running the ice maker i can hear something like little rocks in the water cycler i clean the ice maker and it scaled hard, so i checked the ppm its from 445-449 i checked it directly from the faucet and its at 450 so i got 4 filters and the most it filtered was 5ppm at the most i think im going to try my luck with an ion exchange bowl filter instead or maybe a prefilter btw im in socal so the water actually made the filter visibly turn brown in the folds in 4 months from running it specifically for the ice maker. its alright because at least the water didnt ick up but for something thats meant to be .5 microns this isnt cutting it like i thought if it was more finer and in a pack of 3 id definitely buy it, even if it was 30 bucks id get it

Not bad, better if it came with more fittings
It's cheap, and probably very fair value. I'd prefer to have paid a few dollars more and had the 3/4" fittings included, but it's not a big deal.It installed easily enough. The O-ring is a little fussy. Not as good a design as the Omni filters are. I have had it refuse to seat when I changed the filter twice now, but with fussing it can be put back.Using it as a whole-house sediment filter to get the silt out of a city supply that is currently muddy because of major infrastructure construction going on down the street. Combined with a 5 micron string filter it's doing very well. Why does Amazon want me to rate the "sheerness" of every product? This is not sheer. One star for 'sheerness'. They also want me to rate the "thickness" and "flavor". It is thick enough... for... well... its job. It tastes terrible, it's made of plastic. Please do not eat the filter housing.

1 micron filter
This is a very good filter, you would not want to use this filter in a single whole house filter system. The system I made has two filters... First water comes from the well and goes through a whole house 5 micron filter and then the water travels to this 1 micron filter before going anywhere else in the system, such as water heaters or softeners, faucets. A setup like this the 5 micro catches most things leaving the 1 micron clean a lot longer.

Good for filtering iron
I use this on a dual in house filter and it helps to reduce the iron.

Working well
works great. removes the chlorine and such. probably installed for a year and still doing its thing. but theres a bacterial colony growing on the bottom ring. on the non chlorinated side. i guess i shouldve disinfected it before i installed it. glad i used the clear filter housings. i will order the same ones again.

2nd time buying
We replace our filter 2-3 times per year depending on usage. these work keep large particles out of our used water. Recommend unless you really want to filter out even smaller particles.

Mold?
I'm not 100% sure, but I strongly suspect there is black mold in our cold water from this filter. I've been battling mold in our humidifiers for days and ended up filling one up in the bathroom sink for a while and suddenly the mold issue disappeared in that humidifier. I'm not impressed. We've had the water filter for three years now, and this is the first time we've ever had an issue with mold or contaminants in the water of any kind. Going back to buying filters locally.

Didn't fit my EPW2VC system
These did not work for my EPW2VC filter system. This filter would not line up with the filter head and this left a gap where the sump meets the head - I thought it was lining up better at one point but the system leaked when turned on. I tried both filters and had the same issue with both.I thought maybe this was due to user error (my first time changing the filter) but I purchased similar EcoPure filters at Home Depot the next day and they worked the first time with zero issues.

Works great
I have two cartridge filter containers in the basement one with 5 microns carbon filter [EPW2C] and the second with 1 micron carbon filter [EPW2F] going to my kitchen cold line only. I bought from Amazon a TDS EZ water tester. My cold water from the city comes in at 128-142ppm. When I test my water from my kitchen water line it comes in at 95-112ppm. The filters do make a difference. I change the filters every 6 months. I recommend this filter.

Carbon filters definitely improve the taste of the water.
Didn't work to well with a 5 micron filter, but doubled up the filters and put a carbon filler on each one and they worked extremely well. We use these filters when camping in our 5th. Wheel. For a four month period.
