Rostio Tank rust remover 1 Liter plus Tank-protection Emulsion Tank Sealing Set, Tank Rust Removal

Just follow the instructions and it works very well . Although not overly rusty my tank is now nice and clean with a greyish tint. Not being able to heat the solution just meant I had to leave it for longer but it still worked fine. Really pleased with the results and would definitely recommend this product.

I purchased this product to try and restore the fuel tank of my latest motorcycle restoration, a 1991 Kawasaki Zephyr 550. The bike had been sitting in some chaps garage, having last been used in 1997, so some 21 years ago. The tank still had the remnants of fuel swilling about in the bottom, and a lot of thick rust. After draining the tank, the amount of rust and debris that came out was considerable, I really didn't think anything was going to shift the thick looking rust. However, after finding comments on the Internet regarding Rostio, I went looking for it and found it here on Amazon. It arrived in less than 1 week, very well packaged (and including comprehensive instructions) from the suppliers in Germany. Having already flushed the tank out with water to remove as much of the loose debris as possible, I added the Rostio solution, and an extra 9 litres of hot water. I fully intended leaving it for 5 or 6 days as the rust was so bad, but after only a couple of days you could see that a lot of the rust had gone. The only issue I had was that the 10 litres of fluid was not enough to fill the tank, so you could now see a tide mark of rust. I considered what to do and thought that I would just fill the tank with more hot water, and despite diluting the solution, just leave it a few more days to see what happened. After 2 more days the tide mark had gone, as had the rust! I drained the solution out, and flushed through with plenty of cold water, having removed the bungs for the fuel tap and sender, so I could really get as much out as possible. I then popped them back in and added the Rostio sealer. I gave the tank a good shake around for at least 5 minutes, so all of the inside of the tank was covered and then drained it out. Having left the tank to dry for a couple of days, you can see that the surface of the inside of the tank looks like grey metal. There's no sign of the rust at all ! Overall, I'm very pleased with the product. The supplier was first class, the product easy to use, and the results better than I expected. I will most certainly use them again with whatever is my next restoration job!

Having tried another brand unsuccessfully I was pleased how well this worked. It came with a sealer to stop any leaks and further corrosion.

Really amazing results. Had to buy second hand fuel tank for 30 year old bike but when came looked rather rusty inside. Cleaned out then applied this stuff for half day each way up (cos it didn’t fill the tank). And voila beautiful clean rust free tank. Applied emulsion so now sealed A few days on looking good as new. Also saved used mix and reused for another tank. Just wondering how far it will go. Great value does the job would highly recommend

Well to say i am impressed is an understatement, i was slightly pessimistic to be honest but the results speak for them selves. I actually bought two bottles due to my petrol tank being 22 litre s and followed the instructions nearly to the letter. i filled direct from the bottles to the tank then used as much hot water as i could and put blankets around the tank to keep it warm. I intermittently give the tank a good shake and two or 3 times top up hot water just a few jugs i did not change the liquid. i must admit it would probably have been of after 24 hours as the water was very dirty but i left it in for 48 hours and the results are fantastic. I must admit it was mostly surface rust but i am really pleased with the results Any one who says this does not work is probably not following the instructions.

Before and after pictures attached to the review. I was absolutely surprised how good this product is. I just purchased a motorcycle and the only problem was the rust inside the tank. Bought this product, arrived faster with 4 days than expected. Is a german product but they attached an English translated guide on how to use it. My tank was terrible condition, i boiled some water in a big pot, mixed 2L of rust remover with 15L of boiling water (17L tank). Left it overnight then wash everything with water the next day and the result was amazing without even scrubbing. After that i poured 500ml of emulsion for protection, shake it well, drained it and left it 30 mins to dry out. If you come across this product don't hesitate and buy it with confidence. Really impressed

Its too good at removing rust, so if you have a tank with pinholes or the metal is very very thin, it will find those areas, eat the rust and you will then have holes. I thought the sealer would seal the pinholes or the seams but it didn't. I should have used a 2 part epoxy instead. I'm sure that for a normally surface-rusted tank it would work well, but its an expensive mistake otherwise.

Efficace et simple d'utilisation

This Suzuki had been in a garage for 14 years. Removed tap and sender, made seals. Mixed 2 litres with 18 litres of very hot water and left for 48 hours. Emptied and rinsed however the roof of the tank still had some rust so mixed a half litre with 4.5l hot water, poured in and turned tank upside down (plastic bag over the filler neck and closed lid). 14 hours later, emptied, rinsed and emulsioned there is ZERO rust in this tank with an overall mid grey metal colour. Superb product. Follow the instructions, leave long enough and it will do the job.

Ho eliminato la ruggine da due serbatoi moto da 15 litri e 20 litri. Dopo numerosi risciacqui con acqua e sgrassatore ho utilizzato il prodotto e ho eliminato la ruggine. Sono serviti ancora numerosi risciacqui fino all'eliminazione di tutte le particelle di ruggine che si sono staccate. Ho utilizzato anche una cannuccia per asciugare bene l'interno del serbatoio. Il secondo prodotto protettivo l'ho usato puro, non diluito e l'ho fatto aderire bene alle superfici interne del serbatoio. L'ho lasciato asciugare ed ho utilizzato anche l'aria di un aspirapolvere inserendolo nel tappo del serbatoio. Quando si asciugato bene l'ho rimontato sulla moto. Uno dei serbatoi ha il galleggiante di livello benzina all'interno BMW K75. Per prova non l'ho smontato e non ha subito nessun problema di funzionamento nelle parti meccaniche ed elettriche. Confermo che il protettivo non lascia residui.
