It's all about the angle
Tools like this just need to one thing right - maintain a 90' angle between the handle and rule. I'm pleased to say that for a cheap, occasional tool, this just about gets away with it. Set against my 1-2-3 parallel blocks, it was perhaps slightly out by a fraction, but not enough to make a squat of difference for what I'll be using it for. On the plus side it was very sturdy and feels like it will last a lifetime if treat well. If you need absolute accuracy, perhaps look elsewhere at something more expensive and even certified if that's your bag. Great value and a great addition to my toolbox.

Small but ideal
So this is small at 75mm it fits in the palm of your hand so its ideal for smaller applications, which is what i needed it for. It's supplied oiled and wrapped in plastic to prevent rusting and is precise and....well....square. I wanted this for smaller carpentry and metalwork projects that require precision and didnt own any method of ensuring i was making absolutely square cuts, and also for model making when i need corners to be true. Solid metal, seems robust so far and should do the job even though i haven't had a chance to use it in anger just yet.

Value Item
Ideal set square for the Hobby Machinist. Accurate enough for the job at a good price

Use on a daily basis
One of my go-to tools for small marking jobs & checking blade alighnment etc... Nice & handy & as accurate as I need for carpentry work. One day I might treat myself to a premium brand set of squares but for now this is more than adequate & even if I do upgrade, this is small enough to live in my car boot toolkit. Recommended

It's not square
It has one job and it can't do it.Value for money has to be zero since it's not square. But it's sturdy! Lol.Also, it hasn't been finished very well and has rough edges.

Silverline 150mm Engineers Try Square
The Silverline 150mm Engineers Try Square is quite good quality, accurate and a good price. But this example is very poorly finished, lots of grinding marks and a bent corner to the top above the handle to the blade.

for the price and my needs it great
arrived quickly - well packaged but as part of a larger parcel so don't know what it would be like if bought on its own - as described - no damage - no hassles .it is only 10 cm in size - near enough 4 inches. No markings on any side so it can only be used to mark - you have to measure separately.how spot on to 90 degrees it is I cant say as I don't posses bionic vision or micrometer calibration tools as some reviewers seem to posses. However, because it small the degree of error (no pun intended) is marginalised. I suspect some of the poorer reviews are for the larger 'squares' (300mm) where any error is magnified. My requirements are NOT commercial and for a bit of fun modelling this will be used more to mark where to cut etc better than I could with just a straight edge.for the price and my needs its great.

Great handy little set square!
Great little set square at a reasonable price. Handy size, with good weight to it for easy use.It is on the smaller size (see description), but like I said, I found it a handy size!

Very heavy duty and accurate, great value.
It's a big heavy metal square, the blade is not that thick but it is rigid enough. For the home professional it's as good as you would ever need, for pro woodworking again it's as good as you would need, for the pro tool room it would be ok but you probably would get a better make like MW .. for me it is really great for 100 % accurate wood work and metal work home projects. I am professional DIY ..
