No control over flow, little goes to barrel
This product provides no way to control how much of the water goes to the barrel, and very little does, making it almost useless for capturing the bulk of the runoff. Not worth the price nor the effort to install -- better to put money and time into something that works.

Made me regret cutting my downspout
I got this item through the Vine program to give an unbiased review, and despite that, I wish I hadn't gotten it. First, for those of us who are not at all "handy", cutting a downspout is slightly more difficult that I imagined. However, that's going to be part of any rainwater diverter. What I don't like is that I could have accomplished this throwing together a few soda cans and a straw. A quick search for rainwater diverters shows tons of available options at comparable prices that have dual spouts, selector switches to increase/decrease/stop rainwater diversion, and even the systems that only divert rainwater after some passes through to prevent grime and dirt from going into your rainwater collection. This doesn't have any of that. The plug to stop diverting rainwater is ridiculous, and should be integrated. I shouldn't have to find the plug, pull the hose off (with some effort I might add), and then push on the plug, only to have to reverse the whole process and struggle with the hose to get it back on once I need rainwater again. The material is sturdy, but I'm in awe at the small amount of rainwater it actually gets during a decent rain. The hose was wound up so tight I'm pretty sure I'll never get it completely back to normal. All in all, I cannot recommend this product for any reason for anyone when you can spend a bit more and have much more functionality.
