Just received this but....product is thin and lightweight. Works perfectly for my big study bible, 3 different lighting choices. I love the one that seems like daylight. Loved that there is a 2 yr warranty!!

Top quality; works well , great for reading etc. The magnification is very good, and the light is very handy., also comes with a cloth bag to store the item.

Love this magnifier. Love the little bag to keep it in to prevent scratches. Appreciate the detailed directions for changing batteries. Only improvement would be to make it a little sturdier, but it does work well and improves my diminished eyesight for reading books, newspapers, and other printed material. I hope it will last because the improvement is so helpful. I did have an issue while traveling, the unit was inadvertently turned on while in carry-on luggage. When I discovered it, the batteries were depleted and of course I had no additional batteries to replace them. User error.

This is a fantastic tool for anyone needing a bit more clarity in, and light on, projects involving small detail, whether that's reading, sewing or working with tiny parts. The illumination is even and bright, and the size covers the width of most books. I bought the rechargeable version and haven't yet measured the battery life. I will say, however, the lights continue to shine brightly for at least several hours.

3 Stars because the product itself CAN work. The product needs batteries, but is light weight and has 3 different light settings/colors. If you needed something nearby to use just real quick, this isnt a bad option at all. HOWEVER. I got this for my old lady mother who is trying to get back into reading regularly, but has issues with being able to see fine print and lighting issues. The way this was advertised as being able to comfortably be held WITH the book was what I was hoping for, but when we opened it up and tried it, it's something you HAVE to hold away from the thing you're trying to see for it to magnify. I have no idea who would want something you have to hold away (when you can just buy a magnifying glass), but.... them's the deets.

Very satisfied with the magnifier. I recommended for those that have trouble reading very small print. Finally I am able to read the inf in the back of my medical & credit cards.Oh how upset I used to get trying to read this. Easy to slide off the stand. This is a fantastic magnifier! Light weight, easy to us, comes with 3 lighting choices : natural, yellow, and blue lighting choices. I personally like natural best. It is a well made, sturdy product which comes with a nice dlip cover to use store it in, and keep your product clean and avoid scratching when not in use. Its large enough to easily view one half of a normal size of typing paper. You can adjust magnifier by moving it closer or further away depending on your need. The only thing I could think of to make this better -- a stand -- to allow hands free use. Oh! Did I mention is comes with a option of extended warranty. I have found these options, low cost and allow you the continued use of a product you chose to buy based on your need, wants and desires. Simply a great product. Not to bore you, but I have used this product to read lables on cans, prescription bottles, my Bible, and other books, magazines, mail, literally anything I needed to see batter. A good device when needing to magnify something the size of a page. I gave it four stars because it does pick up Overhead reflection, for example, from ceiling lights, and that can be very distracting. It is lightweight and easy to assemble and the lights work well when reading a book or newspaper. On a larger page, you have to move it around, of course because the magnified area is limited. The magnifier is plastic and so is the stand, but that keeps it lightweight. The fact that it stands alone is a plus and overall, I find it better thanother devices I have tried. The price is certainly reasonable.

This magnifier is literally live saver for students with tired eyes. I am a mother and I study mostly evening, so without this helper I would not see anything. However the stand would be really good. Like this I feel I don’t have enough hands to move pages and same time hold the magnifier and do the notes. After they make version with stand it gonna be master piece.

After putting in the batteries, I took a moment to realize where the switch was: it's the same as the dimmer wheel ... turn until it clicks off... Surprisingly distortion free across the field of view. I've grown up expecting Fresnel lenses to be OK in the middle of the field, but drops off legibility away from it. This is fairly flat all the way to the edge. It's very lightweight, which is what you need when holding it for any length of time, hence it's plastic. But looks smart. Very effective. The lights are variable, but not vital unless in poorly lit up area. So you can save on batteries for using them only when necessary. Being LED's I expect a very long life out of the batteries. All in all, a very good purchase. Well worth the money. Just a quick postscript: It is distortion free if held at the recommended distance, go further out and the image distorts. Keep it at 2"-4" (5-10cms max)

An excellent magnifier. I have a senior friend who with her diminishing eyesight has trouble seeing the small letters and numbers on her condo's HVAC thermostat. She was always struggling with a magnifying glass in one hand and a flashlight in the other leaving her lacking a hand to make the thermostat adjustments. Sometimes she'd get so frustrated she'd get a neighbor to come in and make the adjustments for her. Since we couldn't find a thermostat on the market with numbers and letters large enough for her to see easily i did a bit of thinking outside of the box so to say. When I saw this magnifier on Amazon I knew this was the solution. I mounted the magnifier on the wall with Velcro on both legs of the included stand. Now the when not in use the magnifier folds up out of the way close to the thermostat's face. When needed, all she has to do is pull it down over the thermostat, switch on the built-in LED lights, angle the magnifier until the numbers are in focus and large enough to see whereupon she can effortlessly make her necessary temperature adjustments and then fold the unit back up against the wall when finished with it. It works like a charm. She's going to buy another one to use for reading magazines and books as well.

I will try to make this review easier to read by summarizing my likes and dislikes (more appropriately called "room for improvement" because they are not deal breakers for me). Likes: 1) The magnifier does not distort the text you are reading. This makes reading a pleasant experience. 2) The larger reading area helps improve my reading experience. 3) The LED lights work great at the highest setting (but I have more comments on this below). 4) The magnifier is very light even when using it with three batteries. 5) This came with a free lens cleaning cloth. I also got a free ruler/magnifier, which is very useful when you are on the go (e.g. reading food labels while in a supermarket). 6) The magnifier can also be used without turning on the LED light if you have enough lighting in your reading area. Dislikes ("room for improvement"): 1) I wish that the handle is a little larger. I also prefer to have a handle on both sides to give people the option to hold the magnifier with two hands for better balance. 2) I mentioned above the the LED lights work great at the highest setting. However, the lighting is not bright enough for reading when you are using the "in between" settings. Before buying this magnifier, I got the impression that the lighting can be used in 2 to 3 brightness settings but that was not what I experienced. 3) I wish that the magnifier came with a cloth bag for storage (or give us an option to buy a carrying case). My concern is that the lens can easily get scratched if you leave it lying around when not using it. Overall, I give this magnifier 4.5 stars based on my comments above. I will round it up to 5 stars for purposes of this review because I am happy with the magnifier overall. I strongly recommend it for people who have a hard time reading smaller texts.
