Q: Why is 2tb £481 in one link on Amazon and £296.05 on another link on Amazon and both seem same product and seller?

If you're definitely comparing "apple fo apple" buy the less expensive option.

Q: How can i clone one ssd to another as a back up?

Use an app like Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) it has lots of options of what you wNt to clone , can make file copies or even a disk duplicate. If you want back ups - use a back up app - because back ups need updates.

Q: What make of ssd is inside?

Not sure Matt, but G-Drive is owned by a subsidiary of Western Digital who in turn own SanDisk, draw your own conclusions. All I would say from my experiences using the drive is that it takes some beating, highly portable and rugged, quick and so far reliable. Hope that helps!

The G-Technology drive supports USB 3.1 generation 2 interface with a speeds up to 560 MBps whilst Thunderbolt 3 which has twice the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 2 and potentially up to 40 GBps, roughly eight times the speed of USB C. That said, the G-Drive is fast and reliable for such a tiny format, the question is do you really need anything faster?
