NYX beauty BB beauty balm (GOLDEN)

Sad it’s discontinued but glad I managed to get my hands on it!

I’m so pissed that Nyx changed their formula, the new one sucks but I’ll be switching. The old formula was perfect so I stock piled.

I'll just get this out of the way - there needs to be more variation in skin tone for this BB Cream. For reference, my ethnicity is Indian. My skin isn't fair, but it isn't dark. I wear the color Rich Tan in the Revlon Colorstay line. I tan very easily in the sun, meaning I'll have to switch to another product in the middle of summer. I want to introduce this product to my teenage sister so very badly, but it's too light for her. That being said, I adore this product. I have problem skin. I break out from nearly anything that touches my face. I was solely using Revlon Colorstay for foundation because it was the only makeup that didn't break me out. But my skin has gotten worse due to a few factors I've changed recently. The foundation suddenly was not agreeing with me. I'm not sure if it was me or a change in the formula. Anyway, I needed my face to get better, but I also didn't feel comfortable enough to go out without a little cover. I decided to try this out after watching reviews. I only use a pea - sized amount for my entire face. It should be noted that I apply a very thin layer because I'm afraid of breaking out, and I'd look like a clown due to the fairness of color. It smooths your complexion out, gives just enough coverage so that it looks natural (minus it being a little light on me, which I remedy by blending it into my neck), and doesn't aggravate your acne. I get compliments on my skin constantly when I'm wearing this. Sometimes I just roll with it instead of admitting I've got a little help from Nyx.

UPDATE: I edited this review after wearing the BB cream for a few days. I originally gave it 4 stars. It is more of a 2.5 star one for me, The shade, texture, and longevity are not what I had hoped they would be. In the summer, I like to lighten up and use sheer BB creams instead of foundation. I like to try different brands and NYX usually delivers. I got the shade Golden which looked a few shades darker than my skin which is what I wanted. BB cream has so little tint as it is and I plan to be a touch darker by the sun. The formula is nice. It is fairly thick but has VERY little coverage. It is more of a slightly tinted moisturizer. The Golden shade looked to be my exact skin color when I started to apply it. I am on the light end of medium skinned, very pale.I don't get why most BB creams are so light in shade. This one doesn't contain SPF so, if you are looking for an all in one face tint and sunscreen, this isn't for you. I didn't want SPF. I use my own if I am outside. When I put it on my face, the color is actually lighter than my skin and washes me out. It is also somewhat sticky and stays sticky for a long time. I use it as a primer or even under my eyes for a sheer veil of coverage because it is luminous and light. It wears off after a few hours if used alone. I suppose I could get more wear time with a powder but my skin is dry and I don't like powders because they look...powdery! I am still looking for a BB cream that is a bit darker and has no scent. This one is quite floral. I don't like scented facial products. I would not purchase this again. Maybe if they had a deeper shade that gave my face a bit of color, I would try again but I have not found anything deeper than Golden. It is OK as a tinted moisturizer or primer and it does not break my skin out so I went with 3 stars.If you can find a shade that works for you, you may love it as a stand alone BB cream.
