This year, I decided that I wanted to straighten my hair but I didn’t want to spend $150 on a new babyliss.I ordered the Dorisilk yesterday and it arrived today. Fast shipping, sleek design, heats up fast, and it doesn’t snag.I washed my hair yesterday in anticipation of straightening it today. On damp hair, I applied aphogee pro vitamin leave in conditioner and lotta body sleek me blowout lotion. I wrapped my hair into 4 Bantu knots and went to bed.The next day, I used the red kiss handle free blow dryer to stretch my hair and finally straightened it with the flat iron on 428F. My hair was straight with only one pass. I never used any oils but somehow my hair is shiny.I will say that the flat iron initially heats up quickly but it does continue to get hot after the ready beep. After about 5 minutes of use, the iron had reached the full 428 F. Be careful because it gets pretty hot!I walked out of the bathroom once to make a pizza and when I came back the iron had switched off.I can’t speak to the longevity of the iron because this is only my first time using it. I noticed some reviews about malfunctioning after a while, but I’m hoping mine decides to stay around for a while.My hair looks like a wig. I’m surprised because I haven’t seen my straight hair in three years. Awesome first impression. Would recommend solely based on my first time use.

I cannot believe the quality of this iron. It straightens and can also curl, as the outer sides of the barrel are curved. It gets hotter than the average iron but not so hot that it’s unhealthy. It came with a glove, a felt case, a comb, and a silicone mat. I would buy this again and proudly gift it to loved ones or friends. Oh! It’s digital and shuts off after not in use for a while. Embarrassingly, I know this because I left it on after getting ready for work and called the hubby to turn it off and it was off…. Still had power, but was not hot. Showed “off” on the screen. I love it! Great for ALL hair types. You won’t be disappointed.
