perfect for my Christmas project, beautiful and arrived with only a few points broken (able to fix with glue) - slight "sea" smell, left outside in sun for a few days to lighten the smell - should be gone by Christmas

They smell awful but that’s to be expected. Air them out and they’ll be fine. My cat went nuts when she smelled them. Apparently they didn’t smell awful to her. They’re really beautiful and my daughter loves them in her beach themed room.

I expected some damage with something so fragile so one being damaged was fine. It was a point that I was able to glue back on. But my suggestion would be to pack better for shipment due to fragility. Otherwise these are great.

When I received these packed in an unpadded envelope I immediately thought "UH oh. Breakage claim." I was pleasantly surprised to find them intact, unbroken. Very strong little suckers. The sizes were well within the stated size in the ad. Very nice. No scent to report, none was expected. Not sure why this question was in the ratings.

These weee smaller than I expected and had a really bad odor.

Soak the shells in a bowl of white vinegar (regular or cleaning) and water overnight! I put 1/3 cup of vinegar and 2 cups of water in a large mixing bowl - threw Half a bag of shells in there and let them soak. Obviously increase your measurements if you are using the whole bag. I soaked them overnight and let them air dry outside in the sunlight on back porch in the morning. By the time I got home from work - zero scent and I decorated my bathroom with them! Voila! YES they smell like fish! But if you're not using them outside and using indoors, here's the safest way (chemical free) to remove the scent :-) I love these starfish! Thank you!

I wanted a starfish to replace one that had broken on a top of a shell Christmas tree. These are beautiful starfish and not one was broken. People were complaining of the smell but I do not notice any odor. I would definitely buy from this company again. The shipping was fast and the assortment was just like the picture.
