Handle-Style Fingerprint Cabinet Lock, Smart Biometric, Matte Black, Waterproof

I purchased these for me and the wife. We have a 7 year old daughter who loves to explore. We had purchased another brand before, and had to return it because it just didn't work well. We found these instead and ordered them, and thus far have worked brilliantly. In fact, we have ordered several more since. No, first and foremost I would like to say if these things would probably not stop an intruder from getting into your drawer. But they will, however, keep a little nosy, seven-year-old from snooping through the drawers as she explore the great wide world of the parents bedroom. As responsible parents, we may keep things in our drawers that children should not see or handle. And for this very reason, and not because I would also want to keep my own wife from snooping in my doors all the time nosy nosy. Lol. jk However, that being said as a DIY guy I was able to modify and make it a bit more secure, drilling an extra hole in the locking unit, creating more stability, adding two steel plates to the locking unit and the lock latch, this has created a much more secure item however, that's just me whining ways to improve things. I would like to mention to always keep your eye out for a blinking light, and plug the unit in to external power supply when swapping your battery, so it doesn't reset other than that. It's a great unit. As far as the manufacture goes, maybe add an internal C-2032 battery just to save the settings when batteries get low and need to be swapped out. Other than that I would recommend this product for anyone looking to add a little bit of security in their home. I'm keeping nosy kids out of things I shouldn't be in.

This little handle is smaller than I expected. I like that it opens with a fingerprint. I can’t seem to figure out how to get it off of factory settings, where any fingerprint will open it, so the instructions could definitely be better. I’m sure I’ll be able to figure it out if I mess around that a little more. Seems like it will be easy to install, as well.

Of course, for the price, you're not going to get something that can keep the most determined of thieves out. But it's simple to operate and works every time I've tried it and it's strong enough to keep kids away. So, as long as that's your main concern, I'd say this thing is worth it.

Great product, works great on my top dresser drawer for controlled access. You really have to concentrate on the programming part, its open access until you get a fingerprint to register then open access ceases. The supplied usb simply bypasses the registered fingerprint and gives temporary open access again until unplugged, so keep it safe. Installation requires handyman level skills and tools; programming requires concentration and some basic tech skills.

I saw other reviews saying the fingerprint set up process was difficult. I've installed tons of stuff like this so I took a chance thinking it couldnt be THAT bad. I was wrong. I almost had to send it back after an hour of repeating the instructions, OVER AND OVER AGAIN. First off, the directions are in broken English, so it is a little confusing. No matter what I tried I could NOT get the device to go into the mode to record fingerprints. I was doing exactly what it instructed but it just would not work. The way I got it to work was to plug my own usb-c charger in at the step that said to use the little usb-c "key" that it comes with. By pure luck, I tried that and then it worked fine. The only tip I would give is to record the same finger MULTIPLE times from every possible angle. Before I did that it would take several attempts for the device to read my finger and open. Overall, I am happy with the product. But some better instructions would go a LONG way.
