Not as expected
I was hopeful this would give a nice oak look to our beams, but the color of the paint was extremely yellow, like mustard, and the stain to apply over top of the paint was extremely orange/red. I didn’t end up using the rest of the kit and made my own stain combination to put over top.

My steel and fiberglass doors really look like wood now
This is a fantastic product! I used it on two doors. They both look great (see video clip) and I learned on the first door how to really perfect the look. This kit comes with all you’ll need to really make your project look great. It comes wit sand paper, masking tape, enough product to easily do both sides of a door, brushes, gloves etc. It’s nice that the products are water based so the smell is minimal and it’s easy cleanup. This kit is a great value. I’ll be buying more when I have another project to use it on.

Mixed results, if you have raw wood this may not be 1st choice, works for re-finishing something
This was quite the process with the three different layers to use, I have mixed feelings about this. If you have a new wooden item/piece of furniture I would not go with this, I will use paint or a stain! If you have an old piece of furniture or other wood or wood coverage item that you didn't like as it was then this would be an option if you didn't want to buy new. This went over a previous laminated wood project and turned out ok although it was time consuming and the color does look slightly off from a true wood grain. By doing this I brought new life into an item that I would have normally given away or junked.

The Paint That Pretends to Be Wood!
Ready for a touch of rustic without the hassle of actual woodwork? This "wood look" paint might just be your DIY dream come true. I tried out the Black Walnut variant, and I've got to say, it does a stellar job of mimicking the deep, rich tones of real walnut. Each stroke adds a layer of faux-wood charm to everything from front doors to garage barriers. Covering 100-180 sq.ft per quart, it spreads nicely and dries with that sought-after wooden texture. It's a breeze to transform bland surfaces into impressive wooden facades. Whether sprucing up cabinets or giving your doors a woodsy makeover, this paint invites a slice of the forest into your home—no chopping required!

A very long process for an okay look
So overall I'm happy with how this turned out in the end but a project that could have taken me one to two days took me like three or four days I did everything as instructed but I didn't like the process that I had to go through just to get the end results you first put on one or two coats of a brownish looking paint each time you put on the coat it has to dry for at least 2 hours I allowed it to dry for the 2 hours each time and even with the fan on it's still took a little bit longer than when I was finally able to get to the actual black paint the black paint was very very thin and liquidy and very messy and took well over 8 hours to dry even with two fans on so it was a very long process and overall the look and the end is nice but I don't feel it was worth so much effort also I don't understand why I was given so much of the base paint and very little of the actual black paint which is the color that you really need more of

Approach with Enthusiasm and be Rewarded
I chose to transform my back patio door as I could not be certain of what the end result would bring. The project began with removal of the door from the hinges and strictly following all of the safety instructions. I did two coats and let things dry for one entire day. It was on that second day that my excitement began to grow. I put the final coat on and my beautiful new door was complete. Total time invested was less than three days; much of that was a wait time between coats. I ended up with a deep dark color I love. The wood grain shows through just as I'd hoped for. It looks like it was purchased this way. The result was well worth the effort. Sure I could have simply purchased a new door but getting the unique finish and knowing that I'm responsible for it just means so much more.
