These shoes were delivered on 24 December and this is my 6th or 7th pair of New Balance shoes over the past 20+ years. All of them, including these, have been extremely comfortable. Plus, the reason I ordered these particular shoes was because of my hallux rigidus, which, thankfully, they do seem to help. However, the quality of materials used, especially for the lining, seems to have become substandard since my last pair (purchased in 2014), which I still have and can still wear. So, my major complaint with my 3-4 month old NB 928v3 is the obvious lack of durability. As indicated in the pictures provided, the lining of both shoes is wearing thin around the lacing areas and friction points around the heal. The most irritating aspect of these shoes is the expanding hole on the inside of the right shoe heal area, which is also leaving stain and wear marks on my socks. What's up with this, New Balance? I paid @3 times as much as I have for previous shoes that have lasted far longer! Speaking of money, I live in Japan and because of lack of availability of these shoes locally, I ordered from Amazon US, which means paying for shipping - an expected add-on. Furthermore, these shoes came with an import fees deposit in the event of a customs clearance charge, something which I've been charged for in previous orders, but the deposit has always been completely refunded. In this case, however, before shipment I was charged $70.76, out of which my refund total amounted to only $31.40. I don't mind (and really have no choice) paying customs clearance fees. However, in this instance I was provided no receipt for said clearance fees. I contacted the 3rd party seller, SportsNetStore, who promptly informed me that this was an Amazon-fulfilled order and that I should contact them. A phone call from Japan to customer service is not toll-free, so I tried the online customer service live text. Neither of the two people with whom I attempted to communicate with in my request for a receipt/invoice/explanation for the customs charge were at all helpful. They simply reviewed my online invoice and told me that I'd already received my $31.40 refund, which I can see for myself! 30+ minutes wasted. So, SportNetStore and/or Amazon, why was I not provided with an official receipt/explanation of the additional $39.36 customs clearance charge? These $144.95 shoes ended up costing me $184.31 (not including shipping), and they are already falling apart! I feel like I have been ripped off.

The iconic New Balance 928 has been my "go-to" walking shoes for years. They are comfortable, sturdy, water-resistant and easy to pull on.

Ordered these shoes on Saturday evening and they arrived Monday afternoon. I had been buying NB 1300v1 men's walkers annually for about the last 10 years, and was very disappointed to find out that NB had canceled the 1300s. I suffer from diabetic neuropathy and the 1300s were a godsend, offering me excellent support with the ROLLBAR stability technology which helped me keep my balance. I took a look at the other walkers that NB was offering and the 928 checked off most of my requirements. Upon unboxing them, I was very disappointed. Although the quality of materials and construction is quite good (very nice leather), the 'treads' are an absolute JOKE. I put treads in quotes because for all intents and purposes, they really don't have any tread. What is there is more akin to non-slip soles that someone working in a restaurant or a warehouse might wear. Unfortunately, my hands are tied and I have to keep these shoes for the support they will provide me. If you're considering buying a pair and thinking you're going to take them out on long hikes through the woods or up the side of a mountain, you'll be disappointed. New Balance - bring back the 1300v1s! PLEASE!!!!

Good fit for flat feet. Wish they offered them one more width wider (but maybe they would be too wide). However, these fit better that 95% of other footwear that I tried that were XXX or XXXX wide. I never thought I could find a shoe that I could stand/walk in for eight hours and only sit down during lunch. I also bought a pair of New Balance leather walking shoes and they have the same fit and comfort.
