Cuts and stores butter as needed. Slices could be bigger, but it's easy to double up. Remember to let the butter soften a bit before trying to cut it. Just like cutting cold butter with a knife, it will crumble in pieces with this too. But don't soften too much as the butter will just form into a stick again as it cools in the fridge after being cut. The cover design needs work. It doesn't snap on. Durability is ok. After pushing two sticks of butter through this cutter 3-4 times per week for 19 months, it finally broke. Replacing with the same.
