I'm sure you can, but you'd probably need another a usb adapter, if your mic is a female usb, then you'll need a male to male adapter chord, assuming that the XLR on this adapter is male.

Q: Does the +48V button act as a power switch? Does it have to be "on" to pass signal through? (I already have phantom power supply in the audio chain)

No, it doesn't act as a power switch. It is only for running a condenser mic. It can be left off. However, if you are feeding 48v as input to this unit, when it is designed to have only the signal as input, I do not know what the effects will be. I imagine that it is best to operate the 48v boost at the last device before the mic, if even your mic needs the boost at all.

Q: What does the "monitor" dial do?

It controls the mix level of the headphone out without affecting the gain or mic volume .

Q: Most of the answers say this is for low impedence mics. i'm looking for a way to connect the wireless audio2000s mic system to my computer. will i have any problems if i'm using a macbook pro and the mic receiver has an output of what appears to be 600 ohms?

Couldn't say for sure, but impedance seems to be much less of a concern with the mic circuitry in use lately. If there's a preamp in your mic's receiver, you wouldn't need this unit. It's not merely an adapter. It's a preamp. If you do need a preamp, just get the right patch cord to match the output jack of your wireless receiver to the X2U's female XLR jack & you should be good to go.
