The Food Police that complain about the sodium level should simply NOT drink all of the broth. Using half packets of seasoning will also ruin this excellent ramen. If Nissin were to modify any one of the ingredients, it would ruin it. Let's admit that the Japanese people are masters at making instant ramen (among many other things) and Nissan is the King of them all. This isn't the best ramen I have ever eaten but it is the best for the price. My local Japanese restaurant charges $10.50 for a bowl vs about $1.00 for this. Nissan also makes a much better, richer and higher quality Umami Tonkotsu NISSIN RAOH flavor, but it is also twice as expensive (but more in line with Japanese restaurant quality ramen). Finally, there was a complaint about the packaging. It seems that this problem has been fixed, as my order arrived perfectly packaged. Nobody will ever catch me buying another 25 cent package of cheap ramen again. Try this one, I think that you'll like it. Give the more expensive Umami Tonkotsu NISSIN RAOH flavor a try as well. Review: Great flavors! - Favorite flavor of ramen and the taste of others doesn't come close. Shipping was fast and packaged nicely.

Noodles are average, soup is decent, one step up from the dime a pack Maruchan or the Nissin "Top Ramen" line
I really enjoy instant ramen and like trying new ones every once in a while. I tend to stick with the many spicy Korean brands, because that's what I grew up enjoying. However, this noodle was a nice change of pace. It is definitely higher quality than garden variety Maruchan or even the Nissin Top Ramen brands. Noodle Quality: 3 stars, noodles are relatively thin, not as chewy even at al dente compared to the Korean kinds, but this is mostly personal preference. Nothing too special about them, but gets the job done. Soup Flavor: 4 stars, has much more flavor than the cheaper ramen I've mentioned above. The soup is smooth and you do get a hint of the Tonkatsu flavor. The black garlic oil does add to the flavor a little bit. Feeling afterwards: 4 stars. One problem I have with some instant ramen brands is how crappy I feel after due to the high salt content and preservatives, so how I feel after eating a ramen is important to me too. The meal went down "cleaner" than Shin ramen (a classic Korean ramen and my favorite) and I feel less inflamed/bloated afterwards than with some other instant ramen brands. Overall, it's a step up from the really cheap Maruchan and Nissin Top Ramen lines (which are "meh" at best). It's not one of my favorites either though. I probably won't buy again, but it's definitely worth a try.

When you don’t want to drive to get the ramen
If you eat the regular ramen from your local supermarket then you know what’s what. This isn’t Michelin Star ramen but it is good and better than regular ramen. Pork tonkatsu broth, check. Garlic oil, check. Under $10 a bowl, check. Sign. Me. Up. Instructions are a little different than regular store ramen. Cook noodles first. Put powder seasoning in bowl. Then add noddles (and the water you boiled them in). Then make sure you massage your black garlic oil packet (smush it around your hand a few times) and add to your bowl. I find I can make it go the extra mile by adding more noodles and just kind of making the broth a little more watery. Is it spicy? No. Is the soup black? No it’s the brown tonkatsu color. I live about an hour from any place that makes a decent ramen so this hits the spot. Add eggs, nori, green onion, adjust the firmness of your noodles to your liking and look at you! Ready to open your first ramen stand.

So yummy.
Black Garlic Ramen is my hands down favorite, and I am very happy with this purchase. I'm trying to remember, but I believe the expiration date is at least 6 months away, if not longer. Had a lovely little email from shop owners, seem like good peeps.

Best instant ramen I've had
and I've tried a LOT of them. The broth is so savory and the black garlic oil adds a lot of great flavor. Usually I add a lot of stuff to my instant ramen but in this case it's not even necessary. Unfortunately the noodles are just okay, pretty much the same as most other instant ramens in that they are bit mushy and don't have the thicker, chewier bite you get from authentic ramen noodles. It's a bit pricier than some other options but imo it's worth it.

Everyone loves the black garlic oil ramen!
We've ordered these for our house multiple times. Also had them sent to my brother who loves them and even though he almost never asks for anything, he asks for these. One of my internet friends is a ramen fan and can't get a lot of variety where he lives, so I periodically send a 12 pack to him and he also loves them. They just may be the best flavor of instant ramen out there. So easy to dress it up with some bok choy, mushrooms, egg, and scallions if you want to be "fancy" with your ramen (and it's so dang easy, why not do it?).

YUMMY! Best ramen ever.
I first ran across this product in a discount store and decided to give it a try. I fell in love with it and had to order some. The ramen flavoring packet is larger than most and it has a wonderful flavor, but the best part is the little packet of black garlic oil! I'm a garlic freak and this was so good it nearly made my eyes roll back in my head. I crack and stir in a raw egg before serving and it makes a wonderful meal. Love it!
