Jim Davidson Live - No Further Action [DVD]

good PRODUCT WOULD RECOMEND IF YOU WANT A STAND UP COMIC , THAT TELLS YOU AS IT IS

Wow. The best stand-up DVD released in years!Let me start with the negatives. The show was recorded in a small theater and I still saw a few empty seats (although it was mostly full). There is nothing to the set. The microphone had a slight echo to it and the titles felt very 'home-movie' style. It definitely feels as though this DVD was produced on a streamline budget.However what it makes up for in technical style, it more than surpasses ten-fold on content and quality. Jim should be headlining Mock the Week. His writing is so very clever. The whole show was written to build, progress and find punchlines in otherwise dark material. He opens up with some nice observation comedy before divulging into the bad year. While the transition to it is notably awkward - that's the only way to approach it and wow, does he find the laughter in the madness.His one-liners are perfectly timed and his stories are captivating. He could have perhaps built up the ending better, as I wanted to give him a standing ovation even from my own home, while watching the DVD. But he basically ended the story he was on and the audience didn't know it was the end of the whole show, and not just that story. When they realized it was the end, they all stood up for him - which he truly deserved. But that's partly the problem of being such a great storyteller - your so drawn in to what he is saying that you just don't want him to end!Its 86 minutes long and includes a bunch of extras lasting 20 minutes.He does swear a lot, which was off-putting for a while and so it does earn its 15 certificate. I am very much against swearing but his stories and jokes made sticking with him worth it.I was never really a fan of Jim before this DVD. I knew off him but never watched his TV shows. I have watched all the stand-up DVDs released for the last few years and this is now in my top five of all time. Quality writing with a heartfelt delivery. a winning combination!

Love this dvd

Jim a little more serious, but still captivates an audience. His usual stand up (for adult minded people ONLY of course) routine, but also giving his explanation of serious allegations made against him and his troubles with making a rebuild of his career. Saw this show live in York prior to the dvd being made so obvious knew what was coming, as a fan of Jim it goes well along with his book. He still holds an audience, and has he says, the REAL people that matter are his audience and fans. Although not continually jokey and funny right the way through it does make for good viewing, would recommend.

Great DVD got it within three days of ordering it if u like jim davidson you will love this DVD as he talks about the problems he had not so long ago and he talks about big brother very funny

Having seen this live, I then had to buy the dvd. The live show was brilliant and now we can just relive the night all over again and again..It shows a different side to jim, possibly one not seen before, it was refreshing and of course the comedy still never fails.Keep going jim, can't wait for the next round
