Make no mistake, this is the best of the portable contraction chest "expanders". The resistance is provided by a gas cylinder ON EACH SIDE. Therefore one bicep,deltoid,pectoral cannot help the other. Each of the aforementioned has to work independently. But please be advised that this sucker is TOUGH. I'm at the easiest of the 7 levels and I can do only 5 sets of 47 reps as of this morning June 25th. I do sets of 10 to failure with @ 70-75 seconds rest between sets. When I started about a month ago I could only do 6 reps per set. At first I was afraid it was too difficult for me to use hardly at all, but I paid for the d@mn thing, so I by G@d was determined to try to get some positive use out of it. So if you're already strong get this bugger and knock yourself out. But if you're a wimp(like me) you may wanna work your way up using an easier, cheaper model. I hope this helps.

Seems very solid and well built. Definitely for someone who either already works out or is pretty strong. The easiest setting is tough, so not worried if it will be challenging enough as get stronger. If just starting out, I would look to purchase another model first. So far, very happy with product, and as always, hope will hold up long term.

I tried other “hydraulic” power twisters that were very stiff in movement and had questionable resistance measurements. This device, using gas for resistance, offers a smooth, strong movement with easy adjustable resistance levels. Provides a very good upper body workout, especially chest compressions. This is a tremendous value for what it provides! I highly recommend it over other power twisters hands down!

I go to the gym to try to keep my muscles strong and functional. This machine is great for arms shoulders and pecs and upper back. Made well adjustable resistance. Research shows isometric exercises are very good too. This machine allows you to do isometric by keeping it compressed. Very versatile. Very easy to adjust resistance.

This typical junk! Worked for first workout . Second use it became loose from setting lock , secured it & still doesn’t stay secure, keeps moving backwards. So not worth the $97. Paid !! Sending it back !! Save your money. Steer wide of this product.

This chest expander uses a different design than all the other chest expanders on Amazon. It uses gas pistons instead of hydraulic pistons, so there is no hydraulic liquid to leak and make a big mess. The manufacturer also sells replacement pistons when the originals eventually wear out and must be replaced. All the parts are well made, and the frame is thick steel with some heavy-duty molded plastic parts. The weight adjustment sliders are easy to adjust and quick to adjust to your desired weight. Overall, it is a great exercise device.

The action is smooth and there is enough resistance for growth for me. It's easy to make adjustments too. One downside is that the width of the starting point cannot be adjusted independent of the resistance level. It is tied into the resistance level chosen. The higher the resistance level, the wider the starting width is.
