ETI Fridge and Freezer Thermometer with Colour-Coded 70mm dial & Safe Temperature Zones

Nice and big to read easily, even with a bit of frost or condensation on the front.I needed two for family use and as I had a 2 channel professional calibrated thermometer to hand I checked them out before passing them on. .One was generally 'within about +/- 0.5C of 'right' from -20 to +20 while the other was more like 'within +/- 1 or 1.5C of 'right' -20 to +20' At most temperatures they were each reading as a bit warmer than it actually was * but I guess that's safer in use then the other way.Put into context you'd have trouble quickly reading them to 1 degree precision at any distance anyway so for the price I'd say great*Expensive Professional thermometer is specified as within +/-0.4C over this range but it was recently calibrated and found to read far closer to 'right' than the specification limit.

I am asked how accurate is the thermometer, but how can I tell as there is no standard with which to match it? A problem arises over attaching it to my freezer (a BEKO under-counter model). There is a flexible hook, but there is no suitable structure to which it might be attached. If put in the bottom of a compartment, It is likely to be covered up (or even damaged?). A suction pad might be a solution or perhaps a small magnet - if that would not affect the functioning of the thermometer's mechanism ?

Bought a few of these thermometers, which were fairly consistent giving accurate temperatures in the room, fridge and freezer, however within a few days the needle on one just fell off its coil rendering the device useless.

Inexpensive, easy to read, does the job well

Some reviews have made reference to a lack of accuracy with these thermometers. They'd be right.I have ice forming at the back of my fridge so I bought a thermometer to help me adjust the thermostat, as it's obviously too low and therefore using excess electricity.10 degrees centigrade. That's what this thermometer tells me. Ice at the back of the fridge, but it's 10 degrees C in there. Sure it is...Absolute rubbish. Waste of money.

When food started going off in the fridge we doubted that the thermometer we had was telling us the true temperature. Not only was this one more convenient to site in the fridge and easy to read, it confirmed that old thermometer was in fact telling the truth. As a result, we investigated further and found that a blocked drain point was to blame. That fixed, everything went back to normal and the new thermometer took pride of place in the fridge.

Arrived three days earlier than advised – that was a bonus.I ordered two of these and have paced them alongside each other in various places (fridge/freezer) in order to compare their relative readings. Given the number of comments regarding their inaccuracy, I can at least, confirm their consistency and that they appear to be fairly accurate.The product is cheap, and that sets the expectation – so no complaints with their build design or quality, although I would suggest that had the hanging hook been a little larger and have the ability to swivel, then they would be a lot more versatile, hence the score of 4 stars.

This is a great device, very helpful in convincing my landlord that my fridge is in fact broken. However, not sure how to use the little hook as my fridge (and most fridges I’ve had) have solid shelves and it just falls off if you hang it on the door shelves. A little stand would be more useful
