It's surprisingly easy to roll over my beard area, and while you definitely feel the tiny needles, it's not painful – more like a slight tingling sensation. The roller itself seems good quality and solid, but the 0.75 size really hurts if you’re not used to microneedling. It was more painful than I expected, especially on sensitive areas. If you’re new to this, I’d go with a shorter length first. Once you get used to it, maybe then move up. It works fine, just not very comfortable starting out.

Only used it once so far but I like it. My wife and I hit a couple thinning spots on our heads and both could feel the "needles". We got the 1mm and I think that's the way to go for your scalp. Shorter and it might not reach through your hair, longer and you might be suffering from a stabby scalp. Combining this with red light therapy to help, didn't want to go the monoxidil route after reading the side effects around depression and moods changes.
