I got this for my mum because she wanted to try something a bit bolder with her hair, and wow, it really delivered. The colour is gorgeous – a deep, rich ruby red that actually shows up well even on her darker hair. She was a bit nervous it might be too bright, but it turned out to be the perfect balance between vibrant and classy. Application was easy enough, and it didn’t have that super strong chemical smell like some dyes do. Her hair felt surprisingly soft afterwards, and the shine was amazing. It’s been a couple of weeks now and the colour is still holding up nicely with just a bit of fading – nothing dramatic. Overall, she’s really happy with it and already wants me to order another box for when it’s time to top up. Definitely a win!

Lovely colour, especially if you dont want a very dark shade of single dimensional brown, however, not great for covering greys. I have quite a few starting to come through, and this dye initially seemed to do a decent job covering them up, but less than two weeks later the colour has faded and the same grey strands are starting to show through again. More like a semi-permanent in my opinion.

NUT free! It's hard finding not only the colour you want but hair dye that doesn't contain almond or shea oils. I bought thr deep amethyst. My hair had turned a dull reddish brown with a lot of visible silver/grey snd I wanted a lovely deep plum/conker shade. Turned out beautifully and smells lovely. Only downside is there is not much conditioner but I do have VERY thick Irish hair. 2 bottles covered my mane and its down to my waist. It's not a vivid purple but a beautiful mahogany shade a bit like a chestnut or purple sheen of a conker!

I’ve bought Garnier dye for years and it has always come with an applicator bottle. The first time I bought this shade here it was exactly that and deserved 5 stars, but my second order was a different, non-UK version. It arrived with no English instructions (only Balkan/Eastern-European languages on and in the box) and required a separate mixing bowl and applicator brush — neither of which I had, and which aren’t normally needed. I had to improvise with a random tub (which I had to throw away afterwards) and apply the dye with gloved hands, which was messy and uneven. There was no way to know from the listing that this product would be a different format from the one I ordered first time from the same listing.
