It does what it is supposed to do, and it ispretty quiet.I used it the suck out the air from the inkcartridge after I refill it. Now I can refill myink cartridges successfully and easily every time.p.s. the inlet valve is the one on the side.

I use this to vacuum seal custom bags for camping supplies along side a heat sealer. I use some silicon tube with a basket ball pump needle to pull the air out of the bags before sealing it.. works great :)
