They are easy to set up and seem to work ok when tested with a struck match smoke test. When smoke is detected, all the alarms sound and it is easy to find out which one has alarmed as when the silence button is pushed on any alarm the one still sounding is where the smoke is. They use a non-replaceable battery so once that is exhausted you have to dispose of the units and buy new ones.It must be noted that this kit has 2 x smoke detectors and 1 x heat detector. There is a difference in how the units work so be sure to follow the placement instructions. The alarms come interlinked so should require minimal setup. As a point of note, these use Radio Frequency to work and do not require connecting to a home wireless network.

I cannot vouch for building regs - which I see another reviewer has alluded to.My experience is that this set is pretty easy to install and link up. Everything is in the box.We had removed all of the smoke alarms in the house as they were erratic - deafening us and stressing the dog at random.This set seem a good replacement. We've put the heat detector in the centre of the kitchen and placed the smoke detectors in the downstairs hallway and the upstairs landing. I found linking them not too difficult and the sticky pads have , so far been sufficient as the units themselves are pretty light.Upon activation they are pretty quiet - but because they're linked , they're loud enough to be heard anywhere in our house.Overall a decent package - the price looks pretty competitive.

This set of smoke and heat alarms arrived in a cardboard box with a cardboard information slip wrapped around it. This kit consists of x2 smoke alarms and x1 heat alarm which are pre linked by the company before arrival and therefore set up with this kit is very simple. The set also contains x3 adhesive pads and x3 wall fixture kits as well as numerous instruction manual in various languages.The alarms can be installed either with the included adhesive pads or they can be mounted onto the ceiling with the raw plug and screws. I have installed these with the second method to ensure they don’t risk falling off over a period of time. Each alarm comes with a fixing template which indicates the spacing for the screws and it worked perfectly. The alarms are lightweight and are made from a matte white plastic which looks both modern and neat in the scheme of alarms.Each alarm is battery powered rather than relying on the mains electricity and has a lithium battery which has a 10-year lifespan. However, it appears that the battery is non-replaceable so the whole alarm unit will need replacing after this period. However, the kit does come with a five-year warranty showing that the company has confidence in their products.The setup is straight forward but do ensure you test the alarms before installing. The heat alarm is most suitable for spaces where it might be triggered by smoke or steam like bathrooms or kitchens. Whereas the smoke alarm is more suited to other spaces like bedrooms, general living spaces and hallways. Three alarms are good for a small house but if you have a larger house, additional alarms will likely be necessary which can just be added onto the system.The alarms use split spectrum technology meaning that both the smoke alarms and heat alarm are quick to respond and once one is triggered all of the alarms will go off, alerting you to any issue which is very useful. The source of the alarm can be quickly located by silencing the nearest alarm to work out where the remaining alarm is going off. The alarms are triggered between 54°C - 65°C which meets the English and Scottish compliance laws and so far, there hasn’t been any false alarms.The alarms are easy to install with the fixing kit but I am unsure of how the adhesive pads will fair and would recommend fixing them more permanently into your home if possible. Priced at £49.99 at the time of reviewing, this is a good price considering the safety it brings to your home and the alarms have worked well when tested, so I am confident they will work in an emergency.
