Horizons Preschool for Three's Curriculum Set

My son can't wait to "do school" each day! It is the perfect amount of work to hold his interest before it gets boring and just the right level of challenge. The extra suggested activities are simple and fun, and for this tired momma, I appreciate that everything is laid out for me. We love the Biblical values that it is built on and all the skills and content it covers. We are so happy to have stumbled on this gem.

I bought this product back in July because I was looking for something flexible for my three year old to use while my kindergartener was doing virtual school at the same time. I came back in October just to say this curriculum was tailor made for me! I use the (admittedly vague) extension activities as prompts. If we're self-isolating and bored, we can take an idea and run with it. If I'm busy with the oldest and the baby, we can do a quick rundown of the worksheets and move on with the day. Before Horizons, I was trying to make my own lesson plans as I went along (I've taught early childhood before). But when you're home with the kids 24/7 and the entire country's on lockdown there's simply not enough time for that. It's awesome that most of these lessons require little to no preparation.I also want to add that I use this in conjunction with a calendar time where we review the days of the week, months of the year, seasons, and weather. Horizons doesn't cover this, but it's an important aspect of preschool.

I almost didn’t buy this based on the reviews. It is Christian based. Think like a Sunday School lesson based on a Bible story with a extra emphasis on letter, colors, numbers etc. The academic learning is still there, but it is a Bible story everyday. That aligns with our faith base as a family, but may not be suitable for children of other faiths/religions unless there is a desire for religious exploration/diversity.All that being said, I am really glad we got this. The Teacher Guide is amazing! It leads the Teacher (me, who is only a stay at home teacher because of Covid) through all the learning objectives, literally walking me through it so anyone can do it. While the lesson is a Bible Story and there is a memory verse, most of the activities are academically based (like counting, sorting, naming, coloring). The added worksheet activities are also nice (like more crafty oriented tasks). The weekly lessons also focus on things like hygiene, cooking, cleaning at an age appropriate level.Being a sudden stay at home parent/educator I bought a ton of educational books/sets and this is the only one we use daily.

This is a great little program for 3 yr olds. I'm homeschooling my 5 year old and my younger son wants to join in, so I purchased this curriculum. It's set out very simply and is easy to follow, which I find incredibly helpful. Learning a bible story a week is a great way to get young ones learning about God and the Christian Faith. I'm in Australia, and unfortunately haven't been able to find and Christian homeschool curriculum, so I was glad to find this very reasonably priced curriculum with low cost shipping to Australia. I will be looking at horizons preschool kit for next year too.

Surely recommend it! Lots of activities, and the teacher guide is great with many others ideas for more ways to bring lessons to live. We love it.

Amazing curriculum and company. I personally really love the illustrations in the Bible reader and the extra activities outlined in the teachers guide. I have been using this curriculum with my 2.5 year old for 2 months and bought this set for my sister and her twin 3 year olds as they showed interest in the curriculum when she visited for thanksgiving and my daughter was doing school. I am a teacher with a degree in education with an emphasis on early childhood development and education and this curricula has the perfect balance of fun hands on activities and structured learning.

My little guy loves these lessons. I also love incorporating the Bible lessons into my other kids daily homeschool routines. He loved being one of the big kids and doing his school with this curriculum!

My children love it! I have a 3 year old and she begs to do school every day. My 2 year old likes to do it too. It's too advanced for him but I copy the coloring page at the beginning of each lesson and he colors while I do the rest of the pages with my 3 year old.
