Foldable Potting Bench

Nice quality and pretty easy to put together.

It is a nice, easy to put together table. BUT the color is hideous! Orange! Just ugly!!! The only solution is to fully sand it and stain it the color of your choice.

I purchased the same plant table about eight years ago and held up pretty well. I was happy to find that it was still available but was appalled by the new color it was painted! The last table was a much more natural color. This one screams ORANGE! So far I have put on one coat of semi-transparent Walnut stain and it still screams ORANGE! Other than that I love the table style and it's easy to fold up and put away. Mine never gets put away and is kept out on my deck year round.

I like it because it is plain and simple with table space and storage for pots and bags of mulch, etc. My husband bought one for me and I got a small one for my daughter, then for my granddaughter. We all love them. Mine is about 8 years old, so I did put a new sealer finish on it the beginning of last spring. It folds flat for storage in the winter!

I am a container gardener. This year I decided to treat myself to/invest in a potting bench. Because of the limited space that I had available, I had very specific criteria that my potting bench would have to meet. I needed a potting bench that would meet all of the following criteria:1.) Portability (easily moveable for storage in my garage over winter)I took my time and researched several websites and eventually narrowed down my options to two different potting benches. When it came down to it, this one was the one.I have owned it since May 2010. Many reviewers recommended that the bench be varnished to extend its life. I used a clear satin finish varnish to seal the bench. A clear satin varnish enhances the wood without adding an artificial shine while preserving the wood's integrity for years to come. While this particular bench is available to buy on a number of other websites, I chose to purchase this from amazon.com based on the fact that amazon offers the lowest price including shipping and the seller's reviews were favorable.***UPDATE 10/03/2017*** It has now been 7 years since I bought this potting bench. I have left it out on my porch for 7 winters and it has help up very well! I stii highly recommend this potting bench.***

I'm VERY pleased with this potting bench. It's sturdy and stable; I have no concerns about storing things on the top surface or the shelf underneath. The Quality for the Price - it gets five stars. I think you would have to spend significantly more or make something to get better quality. Two minor quirks: The top rail is designed to fold down thus it doesn't bear a lot of weight if you want to hang things. The bench itself is designed to fold, which it does, but it doesn't fold flat. I don't like the way it folds but it folds well if that matters to you. I don't plan to fold it.You WILL want to stain the wood before putting it together. I got a simple oil based stain from the home improvement center and gave it good coating. That made a huge difference to the finish and its waterproofing. Invest the $10 on stain.Again, an EXCELLENT potting bench for the price. Highly recommend!

I love my new potting bench. It's attractive on my deck, and it is very functional. It was a challenge putting it together though. I have put together many pieces of furniture from IKEA, Office Depot, even Amazon. This one was one of the hardest. Here's why....The pictures were very small so you could not tell which direction a piece should be turned when connected to another piece. The directions didn't tell you either. For example, when you attached the back legs, It did not tell you to turn it so that the predrilled holes were in the back (where the supports attached). It was easy enough to unscrew and put them on right once I figured it out, but I that meant I had to unscrew the metal supports as well. It happened on the front legs as well.In my opinion, this is not a reason not to buy the bench - just hope this will help someone speed up their assembly.The bench looks great once it's together, and I know I will enjoy it. By the way, I also painted it with weatherproofing before I assembled it for better protection outside.

Wayfair promptly shipped the bench, and it arrived well-packaged and in good condition. With all parts, screws, bolts, and nuts completely provided, I assembled the unit alone in a couple of hours, using just a Phillips screwdriver and following the clear instructions. Alignment of pre-drilled holes was accurate, easing the assembly process. On the down side, the cross beam attached at the rear of the bench was split near a screw hole on one end, and the method of attaching the cross hanging bar with a single screw at each end allows the bar to turn downward quite easily, although the assembly instructions do warn that the bar is only for light-weight items, such as towels, gloves and hand tools. In addition, a curve on the "S" hooks provided for the bar had to be widened before they could be hung on the bar. Although the unit is advertised as foldable, once all the screws and bolts are tightened, it cannot be folded unless some of the bolts are loosened. Overall, however, I am quite pleased with this bench and consider it a good value.
