ウェーブシーケンス音源というユニークな音源を採用したシンセです。とにかくプリセットが秀逸で、プリセットされた「パフォーマンス」を選択して適当にコードを抑えているだけで、SF映画やゲームのBGMのようなサウンドを弾くことができます。特にPad系のプリセットが凄いです。凄いの一言に尽きます！ オシレーターに相当するウェーブシーケンス・レイヤーの扱いが独特で正直取っつきにくさは否めませんが、とにかく期待を上回るサウンドだと思います。説明書を読んだだけではサウンドの組み方が分かり難かったのですが、KORGの公式YouTubeチャンネルでwavestateの解説動画がアップされており、それが大変参考になりました。 また制御用ソフトウェアの「wavestate Editor Librarian」も大変よく出来ており、オリジナルのサウンドを設定する場合は、むしろこちらを使ってやった方が捗るのではないかと思いました。 今のところ、プリセットを選んで弾いているだけみたいな使い方しかしてませんが、ウェーブシーケンス・レイヤーの使い方に慣れていきたいと思っています。
