After ten or 15 years of using a computer calendar, I am loving this old fashioned desk blotter type thing. You don't have to use the fields that some computer program designer thought were the right ones to have, you write down what's important to YOU, you don't have to read the tiny print on your tiny phone screen. You can doodle on it, use different colors for different types of thing, the squares are big enough to cover the basics and you can look at the whole month at one time and get an overall idea. Maybe need an appointment calendar or day planner if you have four or five appointments a day, but I'm retired and this is perfect, plenty of room for two or three appointments/calendar items, per day. It just feels so much freer, and does my daily schedule, vacation plans, trips to the doctor, etc., REALLY need to be out there in the world? No, it belongs on my desk, for me to see and use.

My work and home life is controlled by a calendar. I have a detailed calendar that I use for work, and also a separate calendar that tells me where I'm supposed to be, and when, for my home life. I had never thought of having a calendar that was more than 12 months long, and then we started planning a vacation that went into the following year. I was confused, perplexed and mortified that I would somehow forget the important date of our scheduled vacation, because it didn't fit on our standard 12 month calendar. Fortunately, Sproutbrite knew about my problem, and had already created an 18 month calendar that allowed me to add our vacation to the calendar, and post it above my home work office. I know this may sound dumb to someone else, but I am OCD and have to have everything in plain sight, or I believe that I may forget something and not show up where I'm supposed to be. This calendar allows me to plan things 18 months in advance, and relaxes my mind, because the schedule dates are on the calendar and my mind can focus on other things. It's a great scheduling tool.

I envisioned something like the big government desk calendars I used to use many moons ago. This is smaller (I knew that by looking at the measurements before I purchased it). But it worked perfectly for our needs. The fact that it started in July was a bonus! There's plenty of room to write stuff on the dates, and also on the note side. It's good quality and I'd definitely buy again if needed.
