What a phone!
I have been using the phone for the last three months and I must say I am impressed! I bought this phone as a standby phone and within two months it has now become my main phone. I went in with very little expectations - Stock Android, good battery life and and the Nokia build quality. Not only does the phone meet these expectations it exceeds them on every count. The battery actually lasts for over 2 days and the stock Android is a great performer making all apps work faster than the bloatware hampered workings of the other phones And, not forget a decent camera quality. Especially the potraits are stunning and detailed with no pixalation. I still can't believe that it costed only 12,500! So to summarise, if you are looking for an Android workhorse that has dependable (long) battery life, stock Android with no bloatware and excellent build quality all under 15,000 bucks, this one's the phone for you!

A Mixed Bag..!!
After using for a day...!! Build quality: A typical Nokia product. In hand feel is good. The back panel looks so much good. Looks awesome. Display: It's doesn't look like a 720p display at all. The overall experience with a 90hz refresh rate is smooth and punchy. But content watching like videos on YouTube may feel little dull. Camera: The 50mp back camera is like 50/50. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's average. I haven't tested the 2mp cameras. 8mp front camera is below average. Camera app has some cool features. Use GCam for a good result. Picture quality will be improved drastically especially the front camera. Speaker: The single bottom firing speaker is loud and has good level of vocal details. But misses the bass. Overall average. It has a feature call boost volume which will increase the volume upto 10%. The earpiece is top quality. Wired earphone output is good. I've used Nokia earphones and quality is good. Also used Noise tws and got a decent output, no issues here. Software: Clean Android 13 with some pre installed app which is uninstallable. Overall a good phone in this price range. 5G bands only n28 and n78 available. Airtel 5G is working fine, don't know about Jio. Compass sensor is missing. I've also attached some shots taken with Nokia G42 5G. Charging the battery will take 1hr45mins from 20% to 100%.

BEST BUDGET 5G PHONE...BEST TO BUY . IGNORE NEGATIVE COMMENTS.
First of all I would like to inform don't bother about negative comments. It's a real gem. Most of the people said negative about camera, but in actual it is not bad, good in day light and ok ok in low light. At this price point it is good. Rest of all excellent. Display is also good. Battery good. 2 year of os update is really worthy. So don't hesitate to buy Update after 20 days..... Battery backup is good. Camera is also good. 5g connectivity is also at par Updated review after 3 months of use.. Phone is fabulous. After update camera quality improves and battery lifebus good. Decent mobile to lasts long. If you want to use this for 3 years and have some more budget then buy 8 gb version

Hard earned money wasted
Writing this after 1 year of using this mobile. As of 5/12/25 around afternoon 12pm he's gone to his det bed, because of rapid decrease in his battery% and high fever he's been kept in life support. Currently in induced coma. Vital organs like Google services and fast charging stopped working. Can happen anytime... Please keep him in your prayers. Writing this from my old back up mobile Redmi 8 - bought in 2019.

Great looks and performance
First of all, a word of caution. The Nokia G42 5G does not come with a dedicated SD card slot. You can use 2 sims or 1 sim + 1 SD card. Pre sales inquiry on both nokia website and Amazon said it comes with 2 sims and a dedicated SD card slot. Imagine my horror when I noticed it on unpacking. That's why deduction of 2 stars. Since it looks so beautiful and photos were incredibly beyond my expectations, I decided to keep it. Night photos are incredibly amazing. First tried to return it, but was caught in a match between Amazon and Nokia on who will handle this problem. Support person from both said they will call back but never did. But the phone is amazing. Update: never buying again. Problem with motherboard, cost of replacing is 9000, and the joke is that warrenty is a royal 1 month. 12000 phone repair cost is 9000. What a joke 🤣

A durable phone
I am completely satisfied with Nokia G42. I purchased it on Oct 2023. Have used it for past 1.75 years. Highly durable. It is worth the money and it was one of the earliest launched 5g budget phones. It supports fast charging. The 128Gb internal storage is large enough to accommodate all your apps and files. I still have 50Gb free space left with no hang issues. Call quality is superb. Nokia is famous for its clean OS and doesn't come pre-installed with 3rd party apps which take up considerable internal storage. I had been receiving android updates regularly and currently the phone is running on Android 15. The camera quality is okayish but worth the price being paid. I see the price of the phone has dropped to 9k in 2025, but if someone is planning to buy it now, I would still recommend it 😊😊
