16" Metal Tool Box Lightweight and Sturdy Storage Box Made of Heavy Steel and Nicely Finished and Painted

This 16" stamped metal toolbox by MANUFORE is handy for general tool storage and is especially suited for holding longer tools. The box features a traditional build utilizing a piano-style hinge for the lid and a lockable metal latch using a padlock (not included). There are gaps around the hinge so this toolbox is definitely not waterproof. However, the painted finish appears to be good quality and the steel is a fairly thick gauge making this a sturdy toolbox but without being too heavy. Although listed at 16" long, the outside footprint dimensions are 16-5/8" x 6" so just a bit longer than advertised. I'm currently using this for all my pneumatic hand tools plus accessories. With a total box height of 4.5", (not including the handle) this doesn't really allow for a removable storage tray although with a little creativity, there's still enough room to organize smaller parts. There are other similar toolboxes available such as Torin or Big Red that do include removable trays and at a lower price point so for this reason, at the current price of $28.99 I'll give this 4 stars.

This toolbox is simple and gorgeous. It looks well made and was packed well for shipping, I don't see any dents or scratches. My only complaint is that there is a little play in the lid, even when it's closed, but I don't see that affecting the functionality or usefulness at all so at most it would only be a half-star deduction. I wanted a small toolbox just for household tools (instead of keeping everything in a junk drawer) and this is more than big enough for what I need. Very happy with this purchase.

This Manufore toolbox is made of fairly heavy steel, nicely finished and painted, though with a few sharp edges on the top when open. Everything is solidly built, from the carrying handle to the full-length hinge to the clasp, which includes a hole for a clip or small padlock. At 16" long and 5" deep, it's large enough for a small home tool kit and compact enough to fit easily in the trunk, even under the seat of a pickup. The cover overlaps the base on all seams except the hinge, so it provides some protection from rain or spills (though it's far from waterproof). The hipped cover allows for heavy, bulky tools: I'll use this one for storing lathe chucks and attachments too large for tool drawers.A solid and basic toolbox with no trays or organizers, it would also work well for crafting materials or for storing less-used tools.
