Vitamin C Powder, 1 Gallon Bucket, Ascorbic Acid, Supplement

I bought this stuff to try to remove stubborn rust stains from the bottom of my Gunnite pool. It worked well! I turned off the filter, poured a cup or two of the powder over the stained areas, and let it sink. After two days, my plaster looks good as new. No scrubbing! It also removed every bit of free chlorine from the water though. I had to shock my pool twice to restore adequate levels. Also made the water a little cloudy, but the filter seems to be clearing it up (slowly). July 24, 2025 Update: I had to use a LOT of chlorination to get my pool back in balance. The chlorine level got so low I got an algae bloom. I had to buy more chemicals to kill the algae followed by hand-vacuuming to remove the sediment (dead algae). Vitamin C is a miracle for removing rust & mineral stains. ZERO scrubbing, and my plaster looks like new again. BUT...ascorbic acid wrecked the chemistry of my salt pool. It was like starting over again with stabilizer, hardness increaser, clarifier, algaecide, and many baggies of shock. I still recommend ascorbic acid for getting rust stains out of your pool, but be prepared for the algae mayhem that follows!

This product works like magic! My pool liner looks almost brand new as you can see from the before and after photos. I definitely recommend this brand!

Although it's food grade I used it as a treatment to remove iron discoloration on my pool walls and bottom. Worked amazingly well

I’m impressed, that this vitamin C/ascorbic acid was the cheapest bulk price on Amazon, I like that it is a very fine powder, and is 8 lbs. 1gram per serving which 3629 servings. I plan on taking 10 grams per day 10,000 mg. I just got this today and I’ve only had 2 g so far end it seems pretty high-quality especially for only $40. My reason for getting this is using it as a chelating agent, it helps lower homocysteine levels, and is Necessary for anyone with a autoimmune issues, And even for just normal digestion, I felt my body loosen up after the first dose!!

I use this product for the pool mainly for the organic yellowing of the steps because we have lots of trees around and pollen and other stuff is continuously discoloring the sides of the pool.

I bought the 8 pounds because it was a lot cheaper, 13cent per daily dosage. I take 10,000mg of vitamine C daily, one tablespoon. The pill form was costing me about $1 daily, quite a bit higher, $365 a year as opposed to this 8 pounds to give me 365 daily servings of 1 tbl. for about $40. I put it in my smoothie and sip on the smoothie all morning, or sometimes I just take it 1 teaspoon in a cup of water 5 times a day, 2000mg per teaspoon. It doesn't dissolve very well in water, so I swirl the water around a little and drink it down quickly, easy. It blends in well with the smoothie, no taste addition to the smoothie. With water only, it has the slight taste of drinking unsweetened lemonade, actually a pleasant taste, not harsh. I like this brand cause its is 100% pure vitamine C (ascorbid acid,another name for it). and it looks pure white, like a bag of pure sugar. It came in a thick solid storage mini-pail, about 8 inches high and round, with a storage seal (inner rubber seal) if you want to just store it in a fairly cool spot, basement, for 5 years or more. It is in a pail similar to a 6 gallon pail (but smaller, of course) that you get something like a sealed pail of wheat or rice. I notice no side effects at all, and I am really sensitive and watchful for any stomach or body reactions. None. Just assured I'm getting my daily vitamin C supplement. I'm not a big vitamin taker, with the exception of C. There is no smell or taste to notice. I have bought other quantities like this, as they all seemed perfect white and pure, all 100% vitamin C, but this brand was a better price, and packaged not in a plastic bag, or cheap plastic bottle, but rather a pro sturdy storage, and resealable mini-pail. I don't worry about keeping it in the fridge or freezer, just in the kitchen at normal not-warm temperatures or near a stove, like you store sugar in your kitchen. I've been taking it several months now, wonderful stuff, and a lot of my friends started to do the same way to take their daily C. I like it as it is such a pure product and great value, and you can split the cost with friends, or give a bit away, and still have months supply left, and still be way cheaper than buying the pill form . I still eat fruits and veggies daily to supplement my intake of vitamin C supplement.

A little goes a long way when adding to your pool to brighten up, remove metal stains. Keep in mind this works very good, but it will stop your chorine levels just as fast as it removes stains, be sure to adjust your pool chorine after using.
