The VOOPEAK 4K Trail Camera with WiFi and Bluetooth has been a great addition to my outdoor wildlife viewing. It was extremely easy to set up and connect, and the WiFi/bluetooth connection makes pulling footage a breeze. The video quality is crisp and clear — surprisingly good even in low light — and the camera has been very reliable so far. Overall, it’s user-friendly and produces excellent video without any hassle. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants quality footage without a complicated setup.

I used this to get photos and video of wildlife on my wooded property, but I returned it because of one major issue. Pros: -Multiple power sources. I charged it once and it stayed charged for about 3 weeks without draining the battery. -Image and video quality was good, both day and night. -Wifi connection was nice. No need to take out the memory card to review photos. Cons: -Sensor trigger unreliable. Sometimes doesn't work at all. -Sensor trigger time way too slow. Nowhere near 0.1 seconds. More like 2-5 seconds when I tested it. -App is just OK. Takes about a minute to connect and sometimes freezes. I set the camera up while we were on vacation for over a week, and was surprised by how few images and videos it recorded. Typically I'd expect to see animals walk by multiple times each day/night. But in 10 days, it only triggered a deer two times, both in broad daylight. It never triggered at night. I found it hard to believe that was the only animal activity, as June is typically a very busy month for the animals in my woods. Furthermore, the trigger time was very slow. A deer slowly walked through the camera view, and the first image wasn't captured until it was right in the middle of the frame. I'd estimate the trigger speed was more like 2-5 seconds, not 0.1 seconds. At night, it only triggered twice in the 3 weeks I had it set up, and both times barely caught an image of the animal. Unfortunately, one of these was a bobcat I've been trying to catch on camera (the main reason I bought this), and I barely got one blurry photo of it running out of the frame. I did some testing and confirmed the sensor does not trigger reliably, and sometimes takes multiple seconds before capturing an image. I previously owned a less expensive camera that didn't have this issue. I returned the camera and will look for another that is more reliable. Update: The vendor did go out of their way to try to make things right, which I greatly appreciate. Unfortunately, I had already purchased another camera before I found their email in my spam folder.

Auch nach dem Auspacken riecht hier nichts unangenehm chemisch. Material- oder Verabeitungsfehler sind nicht zu erkennen. Die Linsen und die Sensoren der Kamera sind mit Folien geschützt welche vor der ersten Verwendung entfernt werden müssen. Die Kamera kommt mit vorgeladenem Akku. Durch das integrierte Solarpanel lädt sich die Kamera gerade in den Sommermonaten wunderbar selbst auf. Zum einstellen öffnet man das Gerät an den seitlichen 2 Schnellverschlüssen. Über einen Schieberegler im Inneren der Kamera im linken Teil der aufgeklappten Kamera gibt es 3 Schaltzustände „ON“ (AN) „SETUP“ (Einstellungen) und „OFF“ (AUS) über die man die Kamera einstellt. Die weitere Bedienung erfolgt ebenfalls im linken Teil der aufgeklappten Kamera. Unterhalb des großen LCD Displays. Hier befinden sich die Bedientasten die einen sehr guten Druckpunkt aufweisen. Sie sind gut beschriftet und deshalb klar verständlich und nahezu selbsterklärend, sodass man die beiliegende Bedienungsanleitung gar nicht groß zu Rate ziehen muss. Wenn man die Menüsprache auf Deutsch umgestellt hat, lässt sich die Kamera tatsächlich sehr leicht bedienen und die Menüführung ist sehr verständlich und logisch aufgebaut. Unterhalb links des Bedienfeldes gibt es noch einen kleinen Lautsprecher. Hier kann man bei aufgezeichneten Videos direkt den Ton mit wiedergeben. Das haben nicht alle Kameras. An der Unterkante der linken Innenseite hat man noch den Einschub für die Micro-SD Karte. Diese ist nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten. Im eingelegten Zustand schaut sie ein kleines Stück aus der Kamera. Daneben gibt es einen USB Anschluss zum Auslesen der Kamera (wobei man hier auch die Speicher-Karte entnehmen kann). Unten an der Kamera ist ein Stativgewinde und zusätzlich ein Ladenschluss um eine externe Stromversorgung anzuschließen. Im Menü kann man sehr umfangreich verschieden Einstellungen vornehmen. Wichtig zuerst Datum und Uhrzeit. Nachfolgend kann man u.a. verschiedene Parameter der Aufnahme wählen: bspw. ob man Video und Foto oder nur Foto oder nur Video aufnehmen möchte, in welcher Qualität die Aufnahme erfolgen soll, Länge der Aufnahme nach Erfassung, Empfindlichkeit des PIR-Sensors (Intervall alle wieviel Sekunden dieser aktiv sein soll), um hier die in meinen Augen wichtigsten zu nennen. Hat man mit der Kamera das komplette Setup einmal durchlaufen, ist sie einfach nur Auszuschalten, am gewünschten Ort mittels beiliegendem Spanngurt oder auf dem Stativgewinde zu befestigen und der Wahlschalter im Inneren zum aktivieren wieder auf „ON“ zu stellen. Damit wird die Kamera aktiviert und man kann die Kamera wieder zusammenklappen. An der Seite hat man eine zusätzliche Öse mit der man die Kamera verplomben bzw. durch ein kleines Schloss (nicht im Lieferumfang) am Aufstellort sichern kann. Da die Kamera über einen Camouflage Look verfügt ist sie aber gut platziert so unauffällig dass die wenigsten sie im Wald entdecken. Die Aufnahmen der Kamera sind dank der 60MP sehr gut. Videos in 4K-Ultra-HD-sind ganz scharf, in der Nacht etwas geringer wie am Tag. Aber durchweg völlig in Ordnung. Die IR Aufnahmen sind im Nahbereich mitunter etwas überstrahlt wenn das Tier zu nah an der Kamera ist. Der integrierte Lautsprecher nimmt Ton sehr sensitiv auf. Auch niedrigere Auflösungen der Kamera überzeugen bereits. Je Höher die Auflösung und je häufiger die Auslösung kann eine maximale Auflösung schnell zu strapazierten Akkus und vollen Speicherkarten führen, hier sollte man für sich also ein gesundes Maß für das gewünschte Anwendungsszenario finden. Die Kamera hat eine IP66 Wasserdichtigkeit. Ich habe die Erfahrung gemacht, dass Ameisen und Spinnen die Kamera durchaus „verdrecken“, ihr aber nichts anhaben können. Die Kamera ist also grundlegend vor Regen- und Staubschäden recht gut geschützt. Der Arbeitsbereich ist zwischen -20° und 70° Grad angegeben, den wird man selten Ausreizen, allerdings sollte man die Stromversorgung unter Extrembedingungen immer im Auge behalten. Genial ist die Verbindung per App über WLAN. Damit kann die Kamera ferngesteuert werden bzw. die Bilder und Videos direkt aufs Smartphone gezogen werden. Sehr komfortabel. Fazit: Eine durchweg sauber und solide arbeitende Wildkamera mit satten Leistungsspektrum. Das integrierte WLAN und das Laden des integrierten Akku per Solar sind extrem nützlich.

Curiosity finally got the better of me, so last month I planted a VOOPEAK Solar Wildlife Camera beside the compost heap and left it to work in silence. The specification sheet looks rather grand, boasting an 85-megapixel sensor and genuine 4K video at 30 frames per second, all wrapped in a chunky IP66 housing with a tiny solar panel perched on top. On paper it sounds like wishful thinking, yet the little box has delivered. Even in our grey, perpetually damp Manchester autumn the 2200 mAh internal battery has stayed topped up, so my packet of emergency AA batteries remains unopened in the kitchen drawer. The motion trigger feels almost instantaneous, perhaps a tenth of a second, and the generous 120-degree lens captures more of the lawn than I expected. After dark the infrared illuminators reach comfortably to the advertised 20 metres and produce crisp monochrome clips. The only downside is the occasional demon-eyed fox when the LEDs bounce straight back into the lens, but that is hardly a deal-breaker. Connecting through the WILDLIFE CAM app is straightforward enough, provided I am standing within about ten metres and remember to reconnect every time I wake the camera. Loop recording is handy as long as you keep an eye on the memory card, otherwise last week’s mesmerising badger waltz will vanish without so much as a goodbye. Overall, the sturdy build, reliable footage and free solar power make the VOOPEAK a very decent bit of kit for the money. My midnight visitors are no longer a mystery and, most importantly, I am still yet to buy those AAs.

Ich habe die Kamera jetzt seit ein paar Tagen im Einsatz und bin echt begeistert. Was mir direkt aufgefallen ist: Die Bildqualität ist richtig stark – alles schön scharf, sowohl bei Tageslicht als auch in der Nacht. Das mit den zwei Linsen für die Nachtsicht ist super – die Nachtaufnahmen sind wirklich klar und detailreich, ganz ohne störendes Leuchten oder Blitz. Besonders praktisch finde ich das integrierte Solarpanel. Ich hab die Kamera tagsüber draußen stehen, und nach über 24 Stunden zeigt der Akku immer noch 100%. Was mir auch gut gefällt: USB-C! Endlich kein Gefummel mehr mit alten Kabeln – laden und Daten übertragen geht schnell und unkompliziert. Und dann noch die App: Super praktisch. Ich kann direkt aufs Handy sehen, was die Kamera aufgenommen hat, und mir die Videos oder Bilder runterladen. Kein Rausnehmen der SD-Karte mehr – das ist echt bequem. Unterm Strich: Eine richtig gute Wildkamera mit durchdachten Funktionen. Ich würde sie sofort wieder kaufen. P.S.: Nicht vergessen, Datum und Uhrzeit zu kalibrieren! So kann man schön nachvollziehen, von wann die Aufnahmen sind. Sehr spannend was sogar auf einem kleinen Balkon so los ist!!
