This tool would work best for pulling towards you rather than pushing into the device. The "blade" is so flexible that it may help in separating layers but can't be used for prying anything. Not sure how well it will work in layer separation when pulled sideways.

I got this thin metal screen opener tool for disassembly various devices. It's very thin, flexible, and strong compared to thin plastic tools. It's also fairly sharp so care is needed. Handle is made from two sticky plastic cards, which weren't aligned well on mine so edges are sticky and will collect lint over time. Calipers confirm 0.10 mm thickness. This is an OK value.
