WD Red SA500 2TB NAS SATA SSD 2.5 Inch

Western Digital SA5002TB SATA SSD 2.5 inch Hard Drive. Excellent drive, very fast and I have used it as an upgrade for my C drive. Well worth the price.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Extremely Reliable & Blazing-Fast — Best NAS Upgrade I’ve Made I recently replaced a very loud 7200 rpm hard drive in my NAS with this WD Red SA500 SSD, and the difference has been fantastic. The drive is incredibly fast — file access and responsiveness feel like night and day. It’s a huge step up from my old HDD in terms of speed. Tom’s Hardware measured read/write speeds of up to ~560/530 MB/s on this model.  What I love most, though, is the silence. Gone are the constant whirring and vibration of the spinning drive — now my NAS is whisper quiet. That has made working on it much more pleasant. In terms of reliability, this SSD is purpose-built for 24/7 NAS use, with solid endurance (the 4 TB version is rated for 2,500 TB written) and a long MTBF (mean time to failure) of up to 2 million hours.  It feels very robust for the always-on environment. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied — this drive makes my NAS feel modern and truly responsive. Highly recommend if you want to upgrade to something fast and dependable.

Excellent hard drive, replaced in laptop after crucial ssd failed premature of life. This drive is faster and seems robust and high quality.

I found sequential writes were not that much quicker than a spinning disk in my setup, but running something that looks at many small files it's so much faster. Seems to run cooler than a WD Green I bought a few years back, not that that got hot, but slightly warm under load. Prices seem to have gone up in recent years (I paid £145), I was expecting to pay about half of this for 2tb, or this price for 4tb, as my 1TB WD Green SSD was £40.

We use these in our datacenter for node servers. Very reliable and value for money.

Expensive but not that too much, considering it’s a NAS spec (I.e. always on).

great disk, exactly as marketed. 1.8TB usable space. smart monitoring tools available. Using it with a SATA enclosure and USB3.0 so cannot utilise the full speed yet, nevertheless great drive for my homelab 24/7 ON network drive.

Arrivato nei tempi, compatibile con quanto scritto in fase di vendita. Tutto ok.
