This product quickly helped me find a break in my boundary wire for my Worx Landroid lawn robot. I had tried at least two other cheaper brands. But, they did not work well at all. This definitely works on stranded wire breaks. So, too me it is worth the steeper price.

We purchased our home from the original owner. They left no specific sprinkler information. Sprinkler repair services were charging $250 to map out our system with no guarantees. I hooked up the transmitter to the zone control wires. Was able to trace out the wiring across our property. Controllers were buried about 1 foot below the grade. The NF-826 worked perfectly. The are easy to use, use rechargeable batteries and offer adjustable TX power to fine tune location. I can strongly recommend this product.

This worked well in tracing underground sprinkler control wires. It is easy to use. The manual detection sensitivity control is very useful, as is the signal strength indicator. The owner's manual is poor and obviously not written by someone with even rudimentary fluency in the English language. Some settings are not explained at all.

It does what it claims, but it is nearly impossible to pinpoint the cable. I don't know if the signal injector is too strong, ot the detector is too sensitive, but the best you can do is get within a few feet. When trying to trace one pair of wires in a cable, the detector lights up the for every other wire even if those wires are not electrically connected. Even grounding the other wires in a cable just makes finding things worse by reducing the signal too far. Ergonomically it is hard to use because there is no easy way to stand and use the detector. I was trying to trace out a sprinkler station and had to get a long stick and tape the detector to it to avoid bending over. It really needs a screw mount and a wand to use it at all. I do not recommend.

An awesome tool I wish I had 20 years ago. Very simple to hook up and operate. I looked for a dog fence break with a shovel for two weeks. This found it within <1/4" in 5 minutes. The very first shovel of dirt and there it was. If you need better accuracy, you'll need to buy an X-Ray machine. Consider this: the tool itself is ~$140. How much would it cost to have a dog fence repair company to fix one break, one time ? And...you'll have this tool as long as you care to keep it for any future breaks. It also will find UNbroken wires (120v/invisible fence/12v/coax/CATV/telephone/sheilded/etc) buried underground, even inside a finished wall. The only drawback, is that the instructions are a "pretty good" translation from Chinese (where it's made). That said, they are in reality really easy to understand anyway. You will definitely not be disappointed with this.

You cant find anything even if your sitting on the breaker

I was surprised how well this product worked. At least in the one application where I needed it, my expectations were exceeded. With the breaker off at the panel, I hooked up to the line in the pumphouse, installed the little ground rod and traced the line back to the house with no effort.
