There should be some kind of gauge on what weight this will support... although, I am certain it will not support any layered cake... w/ 3 plastic posts.. I was such a fool, having done a tiered cake before (not a professional here). The wedding cake collapsed... I would never use straw-like posts EVER AGAIN for any cake... I had to transport it 1 1/2 hrs to venue...
