*spoilers* overall good, disliked ending
I really enjoyed this book at the beginning. It was really captivating, and I was sucked into the story. My only problem is that I hate when the narrator/author is a liar throughout the entire book because of a “plot twist” ending. It’s not a plot twist, it’s a lie.The entire book you are inside the character’s head, it’s first person, you know her thoughts and motivations. For the ending to come along and show that she suddenly has different motivations, and her thoughts don’t line up with the rest of the book, makes no sense to me. It’s inside her own brain, why wouldn’t she think the truth? If the book was in third person it would make sense, because you aren’t in the character’s head. Another option is that she has simply forgotten her true identity, and was given a false one with a spell or hypnosis. The way the ending was written doesn’t line up with the rest of the book, and seems like an afterthought. Like “oh I have to put in a twist so I’ll do this.”This was disappointing because I really enjoyed the book overall, and I loved the story. The ending had potential, and I like that it tied together her childhood experiences and the fox, but it just missed the mark for me.I look forward to reading the second one when it comes out.

Amazing!
Started slow, and I had to start it a couple of times, but I had heard it was a great book. Once I pushed through the beginning, I loved it. It's such an amazing read. Ready to get right into the 2nd

book tok made me do it 2.5 stars rounded up to 3
I’m not a fantasy reader. It’s not my usual go to genre. But, the hype around this book and the plot twist was huge. I read psychological thrillers typically, so I LOVE me a great twist. This was underwhelming to me.The book is extremely slow to start. The first chapter reels you in immediately, but then, it’s a bore fest of nothing but following the FMC, Callie, as she looks for these certain mushrooms and discusses the mushrooms, for roughly 80 pages. There is constant repetition, literally repeating the same sentences and paragraphs throughout the entire book. Callie is whiny and annoying. I enjoyed the concept, but there was so much filler. The last 100 pages is roughly the best where all of the action is. Now that, that I DID enjoy and I hate that it took so long for it to come to be. I wouldn’t call this enemies to lovers either. Yes, there is a mutual attraction between our FMC and the villain, but a true relationship doesn’t come of it. The spice is very lacking as well. There were parts that could’ve been a lot spicier but the author did not take advantage of this. The second book released in February, and honestly, I’ll probably forget I even read this one and not read the second one. This was overhyped in my opinion. The “twist” felt poorly written to me. As I said previously, it felt underwhelming to me. Usually when an author tells you a character ISNT something, as a red herring, they are. This is like an unreliable narrator to me. I typically don’t mind those, but this one was just ridiculous.

it’s been a long time since i was shocked at a plot twist
wow wow wow. i am in awe of this book. it’s quickly jumped to become one of my favorites. it’s twists caught me completely off guard and it’s been so long since i was completely surprised by a book! usually it’s so easy to guess, but this time? omfg perfection.

Good read
Very different perspective and little heavier than most romantasy. Definitely a solid enemies to something going on. Huge twist at the end which was hugely unexpected, I would have liked to have more teasers of that throughout versus all in the ending

Omg omg omg
Holy cow…..I just……I can’t……I’m at a loss of words. This book was nothing like I expected it to be and to say I am hooked is an understatement! The things that Cali goes through is mind blowing and it doesn’t stop the hits just keep on coming and it leaves you wanting so much more. It literally blew my mind with an ending I did not see coming at all!! I am seriously in shock and don’t even know how to feel about it all. Thankfully I have the second book sitting here waiting and I am not wasting another second without diving right in! Highly recommend this book it’s consuming to say the least.

I absolutely devoured this book!!!
🌶️.5 1.5/5"We own our evil. There is beauty to be found in the dark, just as there is horror within the light."This book is absolutely amazing!!! I absolutely devoured it!! This is a story with true enemies to lovers and so many twist and turns that you are bound to be captivated.Callie is just a normal human scientist that is obsessed with Luna Moths and has been hunting down a mushroom that she thinks can help her cause. When she stumbles into a circle of mushrooms, she is transported into the fairy realm and lands on top of the unseelie prince. After arriving in fairy, Callie is captured and tortured by the unseelie prince, Mendax, who thinks she is an assassin sent to kill him.Prince Mendax has no heart and cares for no one. But this annoying girl has quite literally dropped out of the sky and makes him feel things. HE HATES IT!! He believes that she is an assassin sent by the humam realm to destroy him. So he will destroy her first. This book ends on a cliffhanger but I am excited to say the book 2 is out. I cannot wait to continue on with this story."She had ruined me, and I would make sure I ruined her."💚 Touch her & 💀🖤 Enemies to lovers💚 Shadow play🖤 Torture💚 Morally grey MMC🖤 She's a scientist💚 He's a fae prince🖤 Hate to love💚 Forced proximity🖤 MMC tortures FMC💚 Human/Fae🖤 Alice in wonderland vibes💚 Lies and deception🖤 Plot twist💚 Cliffhanger

incredible book, highly recommend
I have to start by saying I don't know if I can out into words to make you know how incredible this book was. I had seen a few reviews online over it and everyone's reaction seemed to be the same, so I picked it up. Holy smokies was I in for a ride and totally wasn't expecting the way this book was. The book right from chapter one.... wait let me fix this from the first sentence had me very intrigued into reading it, and I had to know how and what was going to happen, but then it did a flash black to start from a few days before, which was fine because well it kept me reading to know how chapter one fit in. At first, thou I wasn't too sure how I was feeling about Callie, she seemed like a stuck-up girl that though she was better then everyone but as the story went on, she really grow into this amazing character that I was rooting for to win against the Unseelie Prince who just wanted to murder everything. The Prince of the Unseelie was ruthless and very cruel, well until he meet Callie and then everything changed. The character thou were very well thought out and you can tell the author did an amazing job at making sure all the fae stuff was in there like not telling them your name or eating their food. I loved the way the author describes the setting it made really feel like i was in the room and down every hallway that they walked. this book really had it all in the fantasy world, and i couldn't put it down till i was done, literally. This book had me on the edge on my seat right to the end, with its twists and turn. I can’t not wait till book 2 comes out.
